I hope this can help - On the foam boards, For the base make slots on the bottom . To be able to slide the brackets back and forth. This gives you room for all widths of foam board. Use large washers also they will help support the brackets - Then get a long screw with a wing nut to tighten it. Also so you can then take the foam board out to store them for later use and be able to use different ones with different colors. All in all this is a good idea what was done on the video. Also if you can use butcher paper and clip it on the foam board - paint over the butcher paper so you can just 1 foam board. Lots of ideas.. Sue is excellent she always goes the extra mile on many concepts..

razorvard what do you mean by slots? If you paint the butcher paper can you roll it up without the paint crumbling or scratching?

Maplins in the UK used to sell cycle stands with 4 little wheels on, which make fantastic Poly board stands !

You can also use High Impact Polystyrene sheets as diffusers and easily shape them using heat :D make sure they are super thin

I like the idea however I would put hinges on the side of the 2x4 connect two panels. I would not bolt the panels to the shelf angle brackets. This way I can V or L shape the flat white/black side. Maybe instead of the shelf brackets I would use 2x4s about a 29 inches ___|_|___ try to visualize this to be the one 14 inch 2x4 laying flat and two about 29 inches high stand upward on the 2x4 with enough space to slide the foam boards. Make two floor holders and put a hinge on the end connecting two when you v shape the floor 2x4 holders you can then slide the boards so the they touch or one can slide this L or over the other edge like this |_ or just anything between 10° to 90° or two panels wide open side by side creating a larger backdrop.

Nut and Bolt, not screw, screw goes into the 2x4 wood stand.

They are not "screws" darling they are nuts, bolts, and clearance washers.... a screw by definition has a sharp point on one end no matter the flavor...

They're bolts, not screws. Nuts go on bolts, just for future reference.

That is INSANE! Am looking at them now online here in Denver, CO and they are $17.45 for a 8ft tall board.

+Amanda Fisher Agree, I am from Canada as well and it's hard to do things on the cheap sometimes... better yet find things your actually looking for.

Thanks for sharing! This is awesome! However, neither Lowe's, Home Depot or Menards has anything with a clear white side it's all silver. Where is everyone else finding these?
@GeoffreyWiebe

Ariel Plett if you can't find white in your area then you can paint them with an interior latex matte paint. Just make sure the paint says latex or water-based.

You can leave it on and paint over it. Some of them may have a transparent protective film over it. if so then I would recommend removing that film before painting, though.

Also at Home Depot. They have the 1.5" thick rigid foam sheet she was using. www.homedepot.com/p/R-Tech-1-1-2-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-R-5-78-Rigid-Foam-Insulation-320817/202532855

I peeled off the clear plastic and with a roller painted one side black, but I can't get the paint to completely cover all the crevasses even after three coats and dabbing spots with a brush. It might be better to keep the clear plastic on and paint over it. Also, I'm leaving off the stand because it will make the v-flat too tall for my low ceiling (and I already cut off one foot of the board). I'm going to tape a hinge support to the back like in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eUQGRMBIPRk.html My studio is small so I won't use it as a backdrop, but it will work as a light blocker.
