We got our hands on the all new @specializedbicycles Stumpjumper 15 and had to give it the full treatment. What do you think about the new Stumpjumper? The perfect all arounder?
We didn’t grab a weight difference on this one. Usually on MTB the weigh savings is around 100 grams but weight is not usually why we recommend the switch to titanium. Our hardware is stronger, the colors are consistent and don’t fade, and best of all titanium does not corrode so you will never have to deal with rusted out bolts from sweat.
We don’t have straight up purple but we have oil slick which has a lot of purple. We don’t anodize our hardware since the process can weaken titanium. Instead we PVD coat all of our hardware which has many beneficial properties including extremely high UV resistance which prevents the hardware from fading in the sun. PVD coating does limit what colors we can make but we are always working to create more!
