Sucks there's only one guitar now would of loved to see them with the other 2 guitarists

1. Built to Spill was originally 3 piece and was intended to be rotating musicians, it just happens that the “Jim’s” and “Brett’s” that were in the band for a while ended up staying for a very long time. 2. This new lineup with Melanie and Teresa is awesome and their live show has so much innocent happy energy with them. They bring a refreshing dynamic and look like they really enjoy playing with Doug. 3. I was also worried that the 3 piece lineup would sound thinner in a live set than I’ve been used to as a five piece. But in the actual venue, the sound is 3D and very full vs. what you hear in 2D on you tube. I saw them live twice this past week at two different venues and both shows were absolutely amazing, timeless, and sonically charged. Go see them live with this lineup, if you’re truly a fan of the songs you will groove your ass off !!!

Exactly. That single is too good to be true at Doug's stage in his career. My girlfriend loves that song and isn't even an indie rock fan

That was an older song that they played live occasionally. Doug reworked it a bit and added some really great guitar lines in there, awesome drum fills, etc. Sounds so awesome on the record.

Saw them a few weeks ago in Minnesota after loving them for years. AWESOME show!

I am pretty sure I'm older than they are. Which is amazing. Imagine growing up on this music and then getting to not only work with but help shape the same band as a professional musician. Fucking incredible. They play like they're happy because they are.

I saw them twice at two different venues this week.. freaking phenomenal! Just as good as every bts show I’ve seen over the past 12 years. Hope you enjoyed the set you saw too! For being just Doug playing it still sounds amazing.

go see this lineup live and you won't be let down. watching Doug interpret what used to be three guitar parts while singing is genuinely thrilling. doesn't come across quite as well in recordings. also: Mel and Teresa rule

Dude I’ve seen them 3 times with a 5 piece lineup…3 guitars. It is absolute insanity. I’ve seen a lot of bands live and a 5 piece Built To Spill is absolutely untouchable. You can’t believe your ears
