You don’t need a tune after upgrading a top mount intercooler. It’s one of the few parts on a subie you won’t need a tune unless you went to a front mount or you want HP gains. He even said he is still breaking it in before he gets a real tune.

I mean you basically have three racecars and a bus. Getting a nice daily would be a pretty good option... Although i personally would prefer something with the reliability benefit.
I've been watching you for a long time, and honestly rally miata is my least favourite build. I liked it at the start, but I would like to see something different than miata. I think you should keep it.
I still say since you're loving the Subaru so much, you should get a trailblazer AWD system for the Miata instead. Cheaper to get in general and pretty cheap to maintain. That way you don't start "accidentally" stripping parts off for the daily (you know it'll happen)

Of course, but it wasn't needed then and there. I know what it's like to struggle.. So when you don't exactly NEED those parts at that given time or within the next few months and you're barely getting by, it can be rough. Just stating I wish I could've saved the man some money/time.
The RU-vid Phantom Official you know why it was slow and tired? Because the terminal was corroded to shit and wasn't conductive, just before it got so bad it stopped lol A good clean and refit would have made a world of a difference
@@lsswappedcessnaHaving tons of Subarus in the family my whole life, the starters go out rarely and can last 15 years or more. It's typically just the solenoid, I've never seen a motor go, though I have seen the gears inside break once. I do always keep a spare on hand though. 😎
i like the idea of restoring that WRX with the motor in it and buying another doner car to do the swap to the rally Miata. just like the idea of Gingium having a nice 4 door practical car for the DD life and some sick toys to play with. that poor WRX sure could need that Gingium love could make a brutally cool sleeper project

i do see y you want to keep the wrx but there are some people, like me who have been waiting for awd miata. i can’t give an exact date but i think it’s been 2 years sense you’ve atleast mentioned you were gonna do it. i can’t stop you from doing what you want but don’t keep me waiting for to long
Yeah but now he realizes that it's also a great daily. I bet he'll end up getting a WRX that's in even worse condition with body/frame rust instead of just the peeling clear coat and stuff and then rebuilding _that_ engine for the rally miata. That's probably even his best bet, because while that would be even more money and time he has to spend, it seems like he really does like this car.
Also another thing about that top mount is that when you go to put I in the Miata you won't have as much room in the front for it because the engine is longer and needs a bigger radiator
I think you shoud get blobeye and swap built engine in to it and use bugeye as a donor for rally miata.(ofcourse if the budget allows you to do it LOL)
Keep the WRX and build it. Swaping the Miata is a cool idea but the Subi will be the more capable car. It would only make sense if you were really passionate about it which it seems you are not. The Rally Miata has surpassed its zenith. Swap Molly‘s current engine into it and keep it as a fun side project. Maybe do some more crazy fabrication on it but do not throw bulk money and time at it. Good quality content, keep it up!
I am looking at this and thinking you should sell the Rally Miyata and lift the WRX and you could still daily it. Just a thought. I still think the WRX swap in the Rally Miyata is an awesome idea. You could use the money from the sale of the RM to make the WRX awesome.
You get another Subaru I do have myself 1 as well and the only thing I did to it is dual a full restoration to the end to do the ends to the engine and it's the best daily I ever had never going to sell it
You put that sneezing valve to the Soobaroo ? =/ I need to buy new battery for my car for the winter, I have no idea about the age of the current battery, so I am replacing it before it causes any problems.
For future reference, before you replace things on the car, always check the grounds and connections lmao. I know it worked out this time but it’s going to be a bad ground almost every time on a 17ish year old car
Great content dude, love what you're doing. I'd seriously consider keeping the Impreza, the mx5 doesn't need more horsepower anyway. It's gonna be way more convenient to have it as a daily.. why sacrifice it for a quicker version of your old car?
The Subie is nice and all, but if you really want it as a daily driver, maybe look for one that's in good condition? Just please don't postpone the Rallyata swap any longer than you already have!
Hey Gingium I know this isn’t your typical content in any way, but can you make a video that reviews all your tools and explains to people what brands you like, what’s a good deal. Also customer service and all of that. It’s just an idea in case you don’t have any other content or you just don’t feel like working on a car.
Its called a daily, keep it and find another donor. Everything doesn't have to be uncomfortable... I think it'll sound bitchen when theres some boost in the boiler room.
