Hi. Can you please share with your experiences with BUL SAS II after some time of using it? It would be very helpful… How many rounds you shoot with it, any serious problems? Would you recommend it as good and reliable gun for competition? I’m looking for new handgun for IPSC Standard division and instead of buying CZ TS2 like 80% of my friends and competitors (I live in Europe), I’m thinking about taking the BUL SAS II. From what I’ve heard they discontinued SAS II Air and there will be new model - Blaze which suppose to be top of the line for Standard Division. Unfortunately because it’s new model (refreshed), there is almost no chance to find any honest opinions about it. It’s not much better all SAS II models dedicated to Litited/Standard Divisions. When I was trying to ask and search, SAS II does not have very good opinion in terms of reliability - like cracking frames, some say that they use poor quality parts inside which wear way to fast… But I would love hear opinion from someone who actually own this gun and use as it supposed to be (and I see from this video that You’re that guy ;). Best regards from Poland

Hey, thanks for reaching out. I have shot somewhere between 7000 to 8000 rounds with it. The biggest problem I had was that I was getting hammer follow on random occasions and backing out the overtravel screw in the trigger did not help. When the gun was brand new, the trigger was pulling at a little under 2 lbs but on Bul's website they specified 2-2.5 lbs. I did some research and some people say that when the trigger is too light, it can cause hammer follow. So I disassembled the gun and bent the sear spring and now my trigger is about 2.2 lbs and the issue seemed to have gone away. The second issue I had was when I was running a Trijicon SRO (or any optic with the glass very forward) and sometimes the spent casing would bounce off the optic and back into the gun causing stovepipe malfunctions. I am now using a Holosun 507 Comp and the issue has not happened since. I have not seen any Bul's with cracked frames but I heard that's generally a 2011 design issue since I've seen more expensive 2011s have cracked frames. I do know Bul uses MIM (metal injection molding) parts inside their guns which aren't as high quality as machined parts so it may be more susceptible to wear but you should be able to buy parts from Cesar-Shop or directly from Bul if anything wears out. I think if you're willing to do the research to understand the platform and willing to potentially have to diagnose any problems that may happen, then yes the gun is worth it. I might be buying the Blaze in the future so I'll let you know how that goes.

@@GunThinks thanks a lot for detailed response. Though choice… I hope Blaze will be available summer this year so still got some time for research and thinking. ;)

What gas pedal are you running waiting on the Bul one to be in stock? Any fitting required ? Also what mag extensions are you running?

Have you done a min/max recoil spring tuning ? it came with the 11. The 10 definitely shot much better for my 124 blazer @ 924 FPS. I just put on a 9 but stuck between the two. Just curious if you did testing on split times and double taps

I am also using the 9 lb recoil spring and was able to get my splits down to 0.09s although I'm mostly hovering around 0.11s to 0.12s. I actually have a 8 lb coming this week to test out since my shots are dipping a little low while doing doubles. I am shooting federal 115gr

@@GunThinks man .09 is insanely fast!! .18 keeping all A’s at 7 yards and below my typical. I’m curious, do you release your finger off the trigger all the way and back on again or do you ride to the reset and snap back? coming from a striker fire to the bul only for the last few months maybe that is why I’m a little on the slower side on my splits. Would love to hear your update on the 8 lbs.

@@justinlawrence7466 I do not ride the reset. I am release my finger from the trigger as soon as the gun goes off. I will let you know how the 8 lbs goes this weekend assuming my order arrives in time.

@GunThinks I like the mag release it looks big.Do you drop mags by accident because mag release is big and protrudes out a ways.Sorry for all the ? I'm just trying to pick right gun.Biggest? Does it feed well, You know any issues with stovepipes double feeds etc...These gun are sharp from what i can tell?.No place around here to try one out.Where do you send it if it needs to be fixed or something?
@GunThinks
@GunThinks 5 месяцев назад
@@timothygarrity5181 I was having issues inadvertently dropping mags when I didn't mean to so I switched back to the mag release the gun came with. The only real issue I've had is brass bouncing off the optic and causing a stovepipe when using an optic that sticks out past the ejection port, haven't had issues while using the Holosun 507 comp

@@GunThinkswhat made you get the Saw model over the Air or Radical?
@GunThinks
@GunThinks 4 месяца назад
@@JoeIuculano Price. Looking back I wish I bought the Air model since the slide is a couple ounces lighter. The Saw even with the brass magwell is front heavy.
