The time has come for Slavyanka mountain, the sixth highest in Bulgaria.
I climbed its peak, Gotsev Peak, years ago, but now we are here again. Last time we got quite cold and now the weather was on our side. I don't remember having such a warm autumn in a long time. The route to the top is long and requires getting up early, and we chose the Izvora hut as our starting point, where we arrived late in the evening. Unfortunately, we ran into a large group of hunters and there was no way we could do the ascent as planned. The group people told us that we should come back at noon and then proceed to the summit. I was a little disappointed because the good part of the day was going to be gone and our plans were totally messed up. Still, we managed to line them up and do the planned wine tasting and then make it to the top as well. It was beautiful and panoramic up there and I couldn't get down. The Bulgarian mountains are so beautiful!
We combined the summit with a walk around the town of Melnik the next day and another wine tasting. There are several wineries in this area that can be visited. There are also quite a few interesting natural sights, but we didn't have enough time for them.
The weekend quickly melted away. I never liked this quality of his!
11 more peaks to go and the task will be completed!
I hope in the new year we can do it. 😊
I'm Laura. Have a nice trip! 😊
