Only crazy Australian cowboys would watch a John Wayne movie called Hatari and decide to try it. That's some really cool video. Keep them coming. That cow catcher on the jeep is especially inventive. Make a bolt on kit and sell that on line
Hi Alec.....if people only new what its like to live in the kimberley western australia they wouldnt ask have these questions haha....even most australians dont understand the logistics off living in such a remote area. Hope this finds you well. Tracey and John Doongan Station
Alec's so right; note the armour on the Toyota Landcruisers' front & sides. They're all trucked to an Abbatoir. Check out the winching them onto the freight trucks; they won't go 'follow the leader' like domestic cattle.
celticwinter09 it's run independent. The older catchers use a winch motor to drive a chain to the arm. The newer ones use a hydraulic motor directly onto the arm. The hydraulic pump is run off the battery.
Roberto Rafael Kuhl there is 2 million acres there and not a huge number of bulls. A horse wouldn't catch near as many in a day as vehicles and helicopters. Horses and ropes has been tried in the past, just end up killing horses
that was some mighty good driving, hard work too. I hope they paid you good for it.Im a widow and never planning on marrying again, but darn you've got my heart beating fast. That's just by the way you were driving. Is there a Ms. Alex by any way? Get 'em cowboy! ! !...
Sorry, it was a Jurrasic Park reference. There is a part in the movie where they are catching the dinos in a similar fashion as you guys are catching the bulls. Cool vid BTW.
The man I was married to passed away 8 years ago and then I said I would not marry unless they could shoot and drive better than me. I do not know how good your aim is, but I wouldn't want your be chasing me in that vehicle! I drive a1992 Chevy Cheyenne 2500 and it can move. But of all the places in the world I would like to visit and that would be down under. But tell your sweetheart no worries,I'll be staying here at my place in Canon,(aka big gun) Georgia Been a pleasure to talk and see that video! Take care
never been catching bulls. would love to try it one day though. this looks like so much fun out there! im down in nsw i have got cattle but not many. i have like 7 heifers and 12 steers
The horns are tipped then they're loaded onto a truck and taken to the main yards. Once there is enough in the yards the road train comes and takes them to the meat works. They're destined for meat pies etc.
Brahman bulls were introduced to this property in 1972. they were put over purchased Fossil Downs breeders. Doongan/Mitchell River was two leases held by Amex Corporation. a US mining Co, that held the various bauxite leases there. properties were managed by consultants AACM.
+Keri Gaugh You can tell it is a dry land, if they were let to do as they wanted there would be starvation. The land simply cannot support all they would produce.
I'm amazed that after all these centuries of cattle ranching they still have horned cattle herds. Just about every ranch in America has naturally polled herds. So much better for all concerned including the cattle.
Clovis are you some kind of SJW? These bulls sure have the best life compared to mass herding in european stables where they never see daylight. And the way they are hunted is "funny" - Whats better? Shot them in the head?
Malte Blättermann The intersectional tard SJWs loathe me.. I am vegan and most SJWs hate vegans because they remind them that they are incomparably privileged.. Basically for those intersectional craps, you can fight for a cause as long as you don't say shit on the other causes but as a vegan, you need to target mankind as the perpetrator and not just straight white males like they would like us to do.. BTW to respond to your argument, being happy isn't a reason to get killed..
Man that old grey bull had some balls ,imagin walk-in ing through the wood an one of those fucker came on to you ,ah ur going yo need a knife .like Dundee had
Thanks :) Once we had enough bulls to fill a road train they were sold and they'd go into meat pies, bulls aren't the best eating but the cows were some of the best meat I've ever eaten.
RU-vidSearch ToxicVaccines ToxicFuoride, HIV Hoax contact the station manager. You never know, you could be allowed :) I don't have their contact details
Who the freak knew it went on like this.. When I die if I'm allowed to come back in another life I'm coming back as an Australian so I can pigs year frickin round.. And catch bulls like this
Gale Gregory they're brought back to a set of yards where they're fed. Once there is enough in the yards a truck comes and picks them up and they're taken to an abattoir and turned into hamburgers and meat pies. The cattle are all wild, you'd be surprised how much they quieten down after a couple of weeks of feeding.
I like the synergy of this management system...when the cattle have eaten all the pasture they have to be shipped out. The only time you can catch them to ship them out is when they have eaten all the undergrowth...WOW is that perfect pasture control or what?
It's seasonal up there, once the wet season comes, it grows back front the root, as since the grass stops growing in the dry season, there is a finite supply of grass for the entire dry season which can be over grazed.
@@anthonyj7989 Not a criticism. Did it in north west Queensland with horses; not as a specific job, , but when we found scrubber bulls. A truck would have been handy !
