OMG. I have watched at least 50 Bullet Journal videos. I felt overwhelmed by the focus on visual creativity, all the artwork, focus on superfluous tasks, and time-consuming set ups. In your videos, you provide relevant information, how to capture the essence of what is important to me and how to use my journal, so it serves me, rather than me trying to fit my life into someone else's Time management system. I love your sense of humor. (I have seen inappropriately silly and very droll BUJO video) I like your balance between irony and heartfelt reflections. Also, your content is well organized and broken down into understandable bits. Thank you for sharing your journey. (I get my notebook, pens, and stickers tomorrow!)
Hi Simie, you editing is so good and hilarious, thanks for your pragmatic and ironic approach to personal development, is so cool to see someone who really try to develope system that works in the normal life ✨
For some insane reason, RU-vid has stopped showing me your videos until this one today - and I fell on it like a thirsty woman in a desert, Simie! What a relief, more good sound sense from you, "quirked up" with your sense of humour and excellent editing. Just what I needed, I cannot tell you! But I should mention that I found Ali Abdaal pretty early on, too, so I predict great things for your channel and will be sharing it whenever I can. I also will make sure I seek out your videos instead of waiting for YT to show me just because I'm subscribed and think that they should. I won't be missing them again. Thank you very much for this one.
Thank you for the helpful things like "chapters" in the video and links to other, related, videos. It all adds to a high value, great quality channel, and I appreciate it.
I just watched your entire 13 video playlist over the past couple hours. 🙂 It was really neat to see the evolution of your bullet journaling, with the things that stayed consistent and what changed. I’ve been considering bullet journaling for the past week or so, but your videos (I came across a random one yesterday) are what specifically, finally prompted me to buy a dotted journal, micron pens, and (I’m very excited for this point) stickers today! Thank you SO much for all of your content. It’s so relatable, funny, and so so informative! I really like your journal set up, and will likely copy a good portion of it. It makes me feel like starting out will be mostly manageable and not so intimidating. 😊
That banana sticker! Also, I now have a new goal: filling a monthly calendar with brocco-lee. I’m a week into the Jillian Michaels beginner routine (again) and that sticker would be perrrrrfekt.🎉😊
I've always wanted to try Bullet Journal methods and think they are fantastic. But the full approach seems overwhelming and more than I typically need. Or maybe just more than my struggling brain can handle right now? But I really enjoy watching videos to learn a bit more about the process and I've plucked a few bits and pieces from some videos to integrate into some planner pages that I'm working on setting up for myself. One thing that was super useful for my mind was something I got from another RU-vidr (Notebook Overload) who is very into Bullet Journals but also very honest about struggles with mental health and other things. It's very refreshing! But anyway... In one of their videos they commented that sometimes for a day where you are struggling to create a "done" list instead of a to do list. Celebrate the little ways you got through the day. This way you can still have some time with your journal but hopefully not get hung up on "failing" at something. Hopefully that makes sense! Anyway... Not sure why I felt the need to put that specific comment on this video but here we are. I somehow stumbled across your channel and have been working my way through all of your videos. Loving it and even signed up for the newsletter. :)
That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I tend to do this in my rapid logging but now I'm considering making a dedicated list for this as well. Thanks for signing up.
You goal system looks really cool, and I'm going to integrate some of it into my own system (most immediately recording highlights). And your dog coming over to see if you're okay during that last scene was absolutely adorable! ❤
Yet another GREAT video which should be mandatory for any new BOJU creator. A thought on your Rapid Learning. You shared you’ve never gone back but still feel good writing it down. I would call this “EoD Brain Dump” or “End of Day Brain Dump.” Helps your brain get it out to make more room. We all feel good after a good “dump”, even Toby 😜
i thought nobody journal like mine, so simple YET so functional! thank you for giving me ideas how to revise my sheet to give more space in taking notes! like this video so much i watched thrice!😁
Thanks for the concept of goal systems. Agreed, task management sounds like drudgery even if it is something I like doing. Congrats on becoming a doctor.
Really good video and well thought out! I like it ^^ (but but but am I the only one thinking that the avocado was still good? Like you could carve out the brown parts and you still had really good avocado! It hides underneath that layer! It physically hurt seeing that good soldier gone to waste… sigh…)
I’m sorry you had to witness that 😂 it was in fact very rotten. If it makes you feel better: I purposely picked the most squishy feeling one at the store, with hollow sections and all. Then I regretfully taste tested the seemingly okay looking green parts to see if I could get my $3 worth still. No. 😂
This was a really great video, so happy to have discovered your channel! I use a hobonichi cousin planner and always use mainly the daily pages and never found a big use for the monthly spreads. Your system is a great way to use my monthly spreads. Question: do you fill out your daily highlights for the entire month at a time or on a day to day basis? Best wishes from france❤
Your videos are so delightful! And inspiring! Love them. Every time i watch one I have a burning question and today I’m going to ask it… please tell me, where did you get that fabulous velour hoodie thing?!
How in advance do you set up the daily highlights? Is it something you do over coffee the morning of, or you give yourself general guidelines for the week ahead?
Dang! So the answer to this question was originally in the video but didn’t make the final edit 🤦🏾♀️ anyways, I usually take like a minute to decide either the day before or the morning of to choose. But if I have dead lines I’ll write in things around that ahead of time, but never more than a few days in advance. Hope this helps!!
I loved this video ❤️ !! Gonna go try your new layout now after loosing inspiration to use my bujo for a while. I also recently moved time sensitive tasks to a tasks app which has been helping me a lot with reminders but I find that for non time sensitive goals related to deeper work , a bujo layout helps a LOT especially having limited space so that I dont overplan. Its been a lot of trial and error but I'm hoping this hybrid digital - analogue system will work for me !! Also you made a great point about setting the bar super low so that we just start. I've often found that its the same with me and unless starting that specific habit or task is something I've been doing for a while , I cant make very specific goals for it which seem very intimidating
Omg Hii ! 😍 It's called TicTic and I currently use it to jot down my thoughts and any tasks on the go and then schedule them for a specific day later at night.
5:05 what does it mean to schedule a new highlight “one daily highlight at a time”? Does this mean instead of adding “work out” to 3 days/week for the whole month, you just put it on the next day you want to try getting it done? Then repeat after that day comes?
@@SimieIriarte thank you! you’re really challenging me to think differently about goal systems and I appreciate it! Just found your channel today & I feel so lucky. Thanks for sharing your brilliance with us ❤️
Lovely video! But I always see this form of typography on social media & idg em’ most times. I’m taking about “tAsK mAnaGmEnT” for eg - what’s it mean?(politely wanna know)*
loose tasks that are actually highlighta has been working but i have this nagging feel I'm not doing enough but also im really scared for my next year bujo with the weekly timeline hour I've already bought 💀
thanks for bringing lol into my morning 🤣 i love your videos and have subscribed to ensure your content helps me to continue to grow. i am over 55 and took early retirement. you youngsters are still giving me inspirations. this planet is a lot safer in your hands 👍
