I'm a fellow who works a lot, so I love to see videos of variety bentos, lunchboxes, and ekiben like this to inspire me to make new things for work. I need a lot of energy these days especially as a pharmacy technician. Thank you for these wholesome, kind videos. I hope we get through this pandemic together.
As a grown japanese guy, that shinkansen shaped bento box reminds me of my childhood. So nostalgic. Whenever I had a school trip and had to take bento box with me, I’ve asked my mom to put bunch of fried chickens or every other meaty stuff possible in the box, knowing those will be all soggy and not taste perfect when I eat them.
Riding in the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto was one of the coolest things ever. It felt like you were riding an airplane on the ground. It was so smooth and amazing to watch the scenery zip by.
It looks fancy and delicious, and pricey. But my mom would definitely buy this just because she wanted to take those beautiful packaging/boxes, as a souvenir. 😅
A ready made, fresh & delicious meal of great quality in a train station is worth $10! Of course you can bring food purchased elsewhere (which is what I do here in the US depending on what the station offers) or from home. You should see some of the unappetizing meals sold in US airports, which are definitely "pricey"!
I have been to Japan, and I can verify 100% that the food there tastes amazing. Even their fast food is much higher-quality than what we have here in the U.S., for the most part.
Am I the only one laughing when the timer keeps falling down everytime he fixed it? Timer: *falls* Dancing bacons: *fixes it in place to prevent falling* Timer: *still falls* Timer: I do what I want
Guess you havent been told reading, playing games, cellphones/tablets are VERY bad to do if u suffer from travel sickness. Its not just the motion of the car. When ur eyes focus on the book/phone etc, your pereferal vision is catching the movement outside the windows. This is what triggers the nausea. My son used to have it really bad. Just sharing a tip that helped him! :) Also another tip: sour patch kids or sour coated candies work GREAT for pukiness!
@@lucyblair8667 yeah same i do that too and my parents take this as a sign i'm 'sleep deprived' and i shouldn't be sleeping when going somewhere that takes less than 1 hour. bruh
I have severe PTSD which, unfortunately, keeps me from traveling to places that I would love to go to. Thank you for your videos! I get to see different foods through your eyes. That octopus bento was so cool!
Okay this is amazing! Usually travel means fast food/burger/highly expensive low flavored food items etc. This looks like a home made or three star restaurant meals! So jelly!! This should be mandatory for all travel! With good food and internet not to mention clean toilets, traveling would become fun to everyone!
The self heating bento reminded me of a super fancy military MRE (meal ready to eat). I would eat those from time-to-time when I needed something quick
Love your videos, my mouth waters every time you open a new bento box :D I am always amazed how attention to details Japanese food are compared to other countries.
Hi Dancing Bacon's, I love your channel. ❤ This is the second time I watched this video. LoL 😂 I watched it awhile ago and here I am again. It's very relaxing and I love your commentary for the food and products. My grandmother was Japanese and Korean I was raised on mixed cultured food. Japanese culture has been one of my biggest influences. I have Japanese, Korean, British, African, Native American and Spanish cultures in my family. Thank you for sharing your culture. I miss my mom and she was a big influence on my life she taught me about our Asian cultures. I still eat like a Japanese British person and I 42 years old. 😊 I am very proud of my mixed cultured family. I learned a lot from them. I appreciate all cultures. ❤
Dont you just love how the shop assistants wrapped those boxes after you choose them of their display counters...before boarding the shinkansen...ahh memories..
Love how he is a mediator..on the train his left Barely moves as he stares out the window...eating his food with awareness of himself and us the camera
Crazy, these bentos are so reasonable. I just came from another of this guy's vending machine vids, and, in that one, a 12 ounce soda ice cream was like $8, a snack size package of insects was $7, 2 crepe bars was $10, and a bear shaped bottle of juice was also a lot...over $5, can't remember exactly. Now he's getting sushi bento that looks delicious for only $8.50! The pricing is really all over the place. For the most part, places to sleep and restaurants, food in Japan seem surprisingly reasonable. I guess there are ripoff, super expensive things to buy everywhere in the world, though.
I love watching youtube channels like this showcasing the culture and foods of (said country), just makes me really want to know to make them myself and also wanting to have the full on experience too
The Japanese people of pre-WW2 Japan going back centuries would be mind-boggled to see how well that modern Japanese people are able to dine on such quantity and quality of food. And on a daily basis! As a result, the Japanese people, long stunted through centuries of inadequate nutrition, have in only sixty years grown back to their normal, genetic height and stature. The 5'3" Japanese adult man is a thing of the past. Foreign tourists appreciate the variety of fast food cuisine that does not appear as typical fast food. The Japanese have come around gradually to adopting English in many places to assist foreigners and tourists. Most of the tourists still come from English-speaking America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Many western Europeans already know a little of the English language if they don't already speak it as an additional language. Others, the non-Japanese Asians, eastern Europeans, and Russians, will have to get by as best they can. In Japan, the food must appear appetizing and the Japanese go to great lengths and efforts to achieve this culinary visual appeal. The food vending machine industry is extremely advanced in Japan while practically non-existent elsewhere in the world. The best the U.S. does is the occasional company lunch room vending machine selling refrigerated sandwiches and pre-packaged items like burritos, hamburgers, and hotdogs which must be microwaved.
I live in the U.S south, so the most wild part of this video was how _authentic_ the sushi my grocery store sells is. Like, its nearly identical down to the packaging, although they don't serve the more high-end or obscure varieties, what they do have is very well done
I wish we had something like this over here in Europe. Sure EC trains have dining vagons that are pretty much restaurants on wheels. But this has the benefit you can take it with you and eat it anywhere or keep it if you cant eat everything at once.
Why am I watching this in the background while I browse the web lmao. Its a silent video with the sounds of someone eating on a train. I love the channel while I watch but leaving it running was a funny realization.
Every time he picked food up with his chopsticks, I was so nervous that something was gonna fall onto his lap... Especially that soft boiled egg. Goodness lol... But also, those chopsticks where you can extend is just so genius. Wish we had those here in America lol.
6:13 what the crap. The train system lady voice sounds exactly like the one from the MGSV or was it death stranding? I think it was phantom pain lol. Side note: I have always wondered why usually only the military uses MREs that have that warming thingy. My buddies and I used to put them in water bottles and blow them up in our highschool trash cans lol. 2011 ... Man time goes by so fast.
Not only does the Japanese Bullet Train beat our British Railway system hands down, but also its food, which tops our British Rail sandwiches by miles. too!
