Thank you so much for this video! I replaced mine in my Odyssey and was still catching error codes for it, I see now I need to reset it and kept the nuts loose to find the proper position since I didnt mark it before removing the old one. I've watched countless videos on removing/replacing but NO ONE said to mark the old one! Because of the way I've put it on It tilts too much to the left because I had to adjust the shift cable arm to get it back on which was wrong! I was stressing over the work I had done and am relieved to know it's a simple fix! Now to go finish the valve seal gaskets on my other odyssey 😑😬
Hey man, nice work. I have a question. My D4 light was blinking and Honda said it needed a new transmission. It's a 2002 accord (I know, this car is known for Transmission failure). Anyway, we bought a transmission kit, changed that, new Torque Converter, new Valve body and Solenoids as well. Now the car shifts into gear and drives, except in reverse. It goes in reverse but does not move. I did some research and found your video. So now I'm wondering if you think this may be my issue? I didn't get a code but that could be because my battery is dead and I had to jump start it since it's been parked for so long. I also hear that the Transmission fluid matters. I used a Valvoline Maxlife Multi-Vehicle full synthetic ATF. On the back it says it works with Honda DW-1.
You did the job yourself? Probably reverse gear is bad, and you should get Honda transmission fluid only! This transmissions don’t like any other fluid
Saludos cordiales.
off topic for a sec, your accent is dope asf. back on the TRS. what if I pull one from the junkyard? and is it crazy to just me, that lil bore put the car in gear.
@@BulletSolano now my concern is you mentioned installing it from the neutral position. Is it the same even if it isn't new, and/or do I do it in reverse and is the smallest part the sensor?
So the continuity has to be checked to find out what the problem is ? Or do you just change the sensor and that will solve the problem? My car had codes p0705-6
Once again, great video. I sent you a question on the other video, thanks for responding. JUST WANT TO DOUBLE CHECK- The green light is blinking on the D4 (2001 Accord). The codes that came up are the general P0700 and then the P1705 which indicates the gear multi position. So am I still replacing the transmission range sensor?
Hey Bullet , Hope you can help me again , I`m still having trouble with my 2000 accord , now that iv`e checked everything out it seems that all of a sudden it`s not getting gas, now last week or so it ran great , but this time i was still trying to stop this oil leak again . so iv`e checked my spark , thats good , iv`e checked timing , thats good , so why would i not be getting gas of of a sudden when that has not been an issue before ?
Hey Doug, i think that’s the mechanics biggest problem, when you fix something everything else goes wrong, for some reason but that happens all the time. Check is the fuel pump is working because when you check the fuse box maybe you change move or do something in there, hope is not the case
What if the car cranks, will not start and you cannot move the shifter out of park without putting a screw driver into the "bypass" switch? It will also not start in neutral. Sometimes it runs. I may wait 30 minutes, then it MIGHT run. Could this be the position sensor?
I was hopping you could help me out, I'm having g a code p1705 gear position switch low input but I'm not really seeing any simptoms on the car everything seems to be working fine, I was told to replace the transmission range sensor, would you agree with that??
Thanks for the video…I have a question ,my accord 2004 v6 has a delayed reaction when you shift it to park to reverse and reverse to drive any idea what’s the problem?
For mine it was intermittent no start. I replaced everything in the starter sequence trying to chase this issue and never heard of this part until the day before it gave me the error code. It left me stranded a TON of times and I never understood why. It wasn't until I got mad and hit the shifter and it started that the lightbulb went on.
What if you put a jdm transmission with low miles and the d4 light starts blinking again? Worked for a few days now my trans acting up again ordered some new shift solenoids don’t know what else to do do u know if this will work or any info on jdm transmission swapped into a 3.0 accord 2000?
@@BulletSolano one last thing do you know which solenoids are sensors I need to transfer over to the jdm version? I’m new to 6th gen accords really need help thanks if u can
@lililililililil-7814 this is what I found online!!! DO NOT USE A JDM TRANSMISSION IN YOUR 1ST GEN CR-Vs. After I ordered a jdm trans for a customers 1999 cr-v and installed it the CEL kept coming on with a p0740 ( tcc lock up mailfuncation ). P0740 is set when the pcm sees a difference in rpms from the engine and transmission input shaft. So after i replace a torque converter at the request of the jdm parts supplier i got the code again, and as per honda's service manaul if the code sets, the line pressure is good, and the tcc solenoid pack is good then the transmission is faulty. we installed a second jdm transmission that the supplier sent us and what do you know after going 2 miles down the freeway the Check Engine Light is back on... p0740... After noticeing a shim on the input speed sensor thats not not on the usdm speed sensor i decided to count the teeth on the gear that the sensor reads off. 38 teeth on the US trans 40 teeth on the jdm trans That will cause about a 20% difference in the rpm reading between the engine and trans thus causing a P0740 every time..... A jdm ecu may get rid of the CEL but its not OBD for US emissions and you will not pass emissions.
@@BulletSolano so what ur saying is this trans doesn’t work for my 2000 Honda accord 3.0 sedan the trans I purchased was a JDM 98-02 Honda Accord V6 Automatic Transmission J30A 3.0L 99 Acura TL B7VA 4Spd alliance jdm-alliance
While changing my range sensor on my crv the gear selector was moved from neutral to reverse when the range sensor was off. Will this process work for my dumb mistake?
Thanks for the video. I have a question, I bought a transmission replacement for my Acura Integra 2000. The transmission that I bought has a Transmission Range Sensor and my old transmission (the one the car came with) doesn't have one. Should I install the purchased transmission without plugging the transmission range sensor? Thanks!
Buenas amigo !
Hi Bullet . My civic 2002 has very high rpm and not moving in drive & reverse . I thought it was the transmission range switch . But got no codes . Do you think the transmission is finished ? Thank Al.
Bullet Solano Hi Bullet. Thanks for your reply . It has been a good car , 19 years old time to go . Or a reconditioned transmission. I will be watching for your next video. Thanks again Al
It was easier then I thought new one came in park so I moved it to the same position as the old one and that the car was in it just like a puzzle and keeping everything in the same position great vid man
@@BulletSolano I got a new one. bro thank you so much. I spent an hour or so messing with it yesterday giving myself headaches and I spent an hour or more this morning messing with it and I’m not sure what I did but it works now. Thanks again so much. I think it does have to be in neutral and you really have to be careful to line it up EXACTLY where it is supposed to be.
If the relay have a diagram get power from the battery and get 1 side to the power and 1 to the ground with 2 cables, place the cables in the relay if you hear a click that means that the relay works
Hey Bullet ! hows it going ? just wanted to let you know what happened with my honda . Well your not gonna believe it but there was nothing wrong with car at all , I was using the wrong key to crank car with . I t so happened that I found a key holder inside strut housing and was a key that was made by original owner to open doors with and kit never dawned on me till another friend reminded me of it . so i went got my other set of keys and it cranked right up ! . man does that Dumbass crown belong to me or what !!! anyways car runs great now and no leaks of any oil and water . .... thank god finally . now i gotta replace clutch slave cyc. I do have a question for you tho. Is it hard to prime it ? and how do I do that ? will check back with you after work this evening
TPS has noting to do with the transmission, but when you change the throttle position sensor is really difficult to put it in the same place, that’s why I never mess with it, my suggestion is to get a use throttle body from the junk yard put it on and see if that helps
When you driving the transmission fluid level gets high probably that’s why the code goes away, check the transmission fluid level and connections of the sensor, also if you have that code the sensor probably is bad anyways
@@BulletSolano but I don't know what that code will be because I bypass it and scan from the board and it blinks 5 times. D4 is the only code that it is giving me.
Muchas gracias bullet solano
after a transmission replacement on 2006 honda crv i was getting a P0706. I replaced the transmission range sensor but now the car is cranking but isn't starting. I tried to use starter fluid to start car and it didnt start so i suspected an ignition problem and none of the coils will produce a spark when putting another spark plug. did i mess something up with the transmission range sensor? I tried to follow everything by the video. please any advice?
I don’t think you did something wrong with the transmission range sensor, but when you did the installation the car was in neutral? If so just check the 3 main things air, spark and fuel
@@BulletSolano yeah i made sure it was in neutral. And i have no spark. There isnt a check engine light. The car not starting bcus there isnt spark but idk what exactly the problem is. What would you do?
@@BulletSolano thank you... thanx for replying at a timely matter.. Iv changed it to the old one before I did I cleaned it out but still the same code.
@@BulletSolano so I was getting tired of the issue so I changed it out One more time ,I opened the New one realized it wasn't on neutral closed it back up , installed it and no more p0705. Lol
@@BulletSolano i just want to know where the number is for the transmission , i have the motor number " J30A1 2104906 " but can not locate the transmission tag or number
Hello, i’m hoping you can help my husband and I. He replaced the transmission range sensor to our 2007 Honda Odyssey. After changing it, the gears for drive and neutral will no longer light up, but the others do. It’s still shifting, but not sure what happened with those specific gears no longer lighting up.
