Look Anna, just because you're saying you don't mean it as an insult doesen't automatically make it no insult. Saying all german sales associates are rude and how you think they might be nice people but they're rude and bad in their jobs is an insult, period. Sales works different here in germany(or lots of europe in general). It's about recognizing subtle signs of the customer and not about greeting the customer enthusiastically. We don't appreciate too much company by sales associates. We like help when we need it and other than that enjoy checking stuff out by ourselves.

Okay it's alright and fine to be evaluative of someone's work, but being straight up critical and personal about how (in this case) fast someone speaks isn't fine. I personally find that her talking at that pace isn't annoying and is in fact a change from our fast-paced world we live in today. You're just being impatient and rude, next time think before you speak or at least put it more gently.

Her comments are bratty and rude! yes, she's replying to rude comments but the "owner of the store" doesn't jump on the "customer" just bc the customer says, "I don't like this color. It's bland. Don't you have anything else???" The owner should, ideally, smile and offer to accommodate the customer. Not insult the customer and tell them that its "MY STORE and if you don't like it then LEAVE!" kind of childish.

I'm not autistic, thank you though for showing the rest of us that you have no respect for people with serious issues and are only busy trying to correct and judge others when really you should look at yourself and ask yourself if you should not reconsider your use of words and if it was right to say that. You were right not to buy the product. At some "high end" (wannabe) stores, the salespeople look down on customers that look too young or don't look rich. A lot of bullied customers end up buying out of shame and fear that they will be deemed poor by the staff and the rest of the customers. Good for you and keep that strong personality of yours. I think someone has to be either really insecure or conceded to assume because people around you are laughing, it has to be about you. The title is click bait as they did nothing wrong; if anything you wasted their time by asking for things and refusing to buy them because someone was laughing. Grow up.

If there was only one point in which she thought she was being poked fun at then yeah maybe it isn’t the case but it happened several times during her visit to the store and it made her feel bad. I definitely know how you feel. The sephora in my area has a bad rep for doing the same thing which is why I always try to avoid going at all cost. I hate that feeling when you know someone is talking about you, it makes me feel self conscious.
I've been to MAC stores in Paris, London, Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and other parts of Canada, I'm 18 and Native American and honestly I've had a lot of different experiences with MAC Workers. I think it really depends on where you go for sure because some people are so rude whereas others are so nice.
I literally walked into a Mac store ( not one person said hi, nor was I even acknowledged ) now I see what people mean when they say the store employees are rude.
I think just in general the European mindset is to not approach customers so as not to badger them or anything, but still be around so someone can approach you with a question. If I recall correctly, this is one of the policies IKEA has for its employees

I've heard this a lot about Mac and when you said that Germany got poor customer service in most places that seems to be an issue throughout Eastern Europe and you can blame the USSR for that because not only did they kill a lot of people they also pretty much killed customer service as well.

anna smith I work at Abercrombie and Fitch and i usually never really talk or laugh with other associates when helping someone. When I help someone with anything or ringing them up My focus is on them but I don’t over do it im calm and sweet and helpful
Even if the sellers didn't actually mean to be rude to her, it's still their fault for making her feel uncomfortable in the store while selling, when they are doing their job they should do it right and not while being distracted by something else.
I would've asked for a manager and if the manager didn't seem bothered by it, don't buy it. If it looked like the manager had an issue with what the employees were doing i would've bought the items. If not I would've said "never mind, ill give another store my money."
