look at bullmastiff rescue, if you really want one and are willing to understand them you will know and care about the importance of this. I have a beautiful male who was 2 when I got him and not socialized well, but he is the joy of my life. If you look at my video of him you will see that he is as lovely as any breeders bullie. Im sure you are not looking to become a "backyard breeder" right? If not then you will be happy to look up a rescue in your area.
Videos like this help to make RU-vid great. They continually make me chuckle. But the majority of everyday people are incrementally KILLING their pet dogs!!! The junk companies use into pet food triggers varieties of cancer and makes pet dogs pass away young. I learned the tough way when my doggy passed away aged 5. To protect your animal's life it's essential to pay attention to Double Life Dog Diet (Look in Google.) I'm very grateful I did!
Maybe someone could answer my question.I have been considering showimg my male bullmastif, but thought it was sensless as he exceeds the weight standards as does this red. He is 28.5" and 135lbs at 20 months without an ounce of fat on him. Of course the breed standard is 130 lbs 26-29 lbs. He looks skiny but muscular when compared to these show dogs. Is my concern legitimate, or has the maximum weight been changed?
Some Back yard Breeders breed healthier dogs then the Inbred Show type that are old at the age of 8 or 9. The problem with show breeders is they only breed from the stud books. That has become a very weak gene pool! Our Bullmastiffs are still active at 12 and live to be 12-15 minimum! It is a shame some crap breeders and puppy farms give back yard breeders a bad name. I agree with you about looking at Rescue centres but you have to be careful with these dogs if they been abused by idiots etc
Your dogs look great but please do not discredit every back yard breeder! These dogs originate from Back Yard Breeders and Game Keepers in my country and the back yard working type is very much longer lived then the show type! the same with the English Mastiff working lines live longer. Yes there are people who should never be allowed near these great dogs! Soundness,Health, Temperament,Agility and Longevity Looks are only secondary to all these when breeding!
