They lost about 4 games by 3 points or less (I believe 2 games were lost by 1 point) - then they had a couple stupid losses to the worst teams in the league - they got blown out by New York by 20 something - Orlando was able to beat them also - can you imagine the mindset that Orlando had going into that playoffs series against Chicago - (they had just eliminated Chicago the year before, then they were able to beat this Legendary 96 Chicago Team in the regular season) - so they had to have been thinking that they were very capable of winning that playoff series in 96 🤣🤣 - then get drilled in a 4 game sweep - I was pumped up before that series started and sort of disappointed after - I thought Orlando was going to put up a fight so MJ could just break their hearts - but that series was basically over after game 2 and Orlando knew it - I get more joy out of watching a team loose that thought they had a chance
Great upload! Amazing game. Man, how I miss the NBA. Reggie the worm, was great in defense. Yeah he fouled from time to time… and I’m a Knick fan… but he drove MJ so mad he chocked him 😂
As always, thanks for sharing this. In retrospect (again), it is a shame the Pacers were beaten by the Hawks in the 1st round. As response, the Pacers traded Mark Jackson and Ricky Pierce to Denver for Jalen Rose and Reggie Williams. The Pacers struggled the next season so they reacquired Jackson then made a late-season push but fell short to clinch the 8th seed (Washington). Should Indiana advance, they will face Orlando, whose previous year's faceoff went G7. Not saying the Pacers will win, but they definitely provide a much serious resistance unlike the Hawks. And who knows, Pacers-Bulls is unappealing compared to what really happened, but give Pacers the chance to prove themselves beating the Bulls twice (the only team to achieve the feat) is no fluke. But reality tells otherwise. And it is impressive Larry Brown coached a team for four (4) full seasons.
