Scottie Pippen struggled early, but eventually found the stroke to finish with 19 points. Michael Jordan scored 28 and Ron Harper added 15, as the Bulls took a 2-0 series lead with a 91-80 victory over the Knicks.
Dennis Rodman pulled down 19 boards in the win.
Things got a little testy between Knicks center Patrick Ewing and Bulls assistant coach Jim Cleamons during one point in the game. A referee had to step between them to prevent what could have been a physical confrontation.

The Knicks and their fans KNEW deep inside, that '94 was infact very much a fluke. We didn't have Michael, and they still BARELY escaped. Here in the '96 Playoffs, they knew they were going to get plowed.

Indeed, a lot of people forget how good that 1993-94 Chicago Bulls team was without Michael. If not for a Hue Hollins call in Game 5 of that 1994 Semi-Finals round, the Bulls would have won that series in 6 and proved they could beat the Knicks with and without Michael.

@@user-mf3fx9bv3h Blown leads happen but still if not for the call in Game 5 by Hue Hollins the Bulls would've won in six because they routed the Knicks in Game 6. They held their own without MJ that that season. This would've mentally crushed the Knicks if they didn't beat the Bulls without Michael.

@@Miller2h41 Game 1 hurt More. Blown leads were less common back then. Watch the game 1 highlights. The full game is on RU-vid. A 15 point lead on the road in the 90s was huge. Losing that game hurt more than a back and forth contest in Game 5. Bulls had chances to win that series. They blew another lead in Game 2. Derek Harper was suspended for Game 5. Bulls still couldn’t win. They had there chances to win the series. They Chocked in Game 1!

@@Miller2h41 Knicks would have won Games 6 and 7 if they were down 3-2. Just like they were down 3-2 and Beat the Pacers in the Next Series. Winning Game 6 in Indiana.

Jordan on a bad back still was dominate but let me tell jim cleamons must be crazy for calling out Ewing he must have seen his life flashed before his eyes id leave Ewing along Jordan saved his assistant coach ass lol

I think Derek Harper was relieved that Michael missed his shots that he usually make because Derek Harper was mostly on the receiving end of Michael's baskets.

LMAO...... 7:23 Watch closely: Van Gundy had come to the Chicago bench to calm Ewing down and put his hands on his stomach to direct him away from the Bulls' bench. Ewing told him something and he IMMEDIATELY pulled away his LEFT hand REAL SCARED like: "I better do whatever the fuck Pattrick tells me or I could be in BIG, BIG TROUBLE with this steaming mad, LONG ARMED Ewing standin just INCHES away from head!!!!!" After that van Gundy ain't seen NEAR Ewing again in the fragment. LMAO.....
