@@Ironsnake345ify I’ve done that with a mushroom. If I hit an item box while still in 2nd, it can be a mushroom even if I am 1st by the time the item is decided. If that happens, I save the mushroom. Having a mushroom in 1st place is a huge advantage, as you can dodge the next blue shell.

@@kaizoisevil well I'm not talking about doing it with a mushroom, I'm talking about, you notice one of the other players gets a blue shell, you let yourself fall behind into second place before they throw it or shortly after, then when it gets close to you, because you're no longer in first place, it locks onto the guy who was behind you a moment ago and blasts them. Most MK games give you a heads-up of who has what item, or at least have blue shells show up on the track map, so you can do this if you're quick enough.

@@ListlessMask it's said there are ways to scape from it, but require a precise timing. The other day I was about to get one, waited for it with the claxon, and when I calculated it was behind me before it jumped over my head, I used the claxon and it vanished. So there is at least one method.
