Geoff's feeling about Halo is what we have been trying to say about let's play and AH. A consistent group of friends having fun without a plan. As RU-vid and RT became more corporate all the fun and happiness was lost.

@@cerjmedia That rarely happens....people who complain about people sweating are just angry about SBMM and going against people at their skill level or slightly better lol. Like I get it, sometimes you just want to be out there and topping the leaderboard for a game going against peasants believing you're a God...but there are people who are better than you and they don't take the game seriously lol. If you went against Shroud in any game, you'd complain he's "Sweating" or "Try harding" but watch his stream and he's just calm and more worried about reading chat lol.

@@blindfire3167 yeah that's fair, though it is worth mentioning that Halo Reach has been out for 13 years now, and the majority of people playing MCC in 2023/24 are people who have been playing for years. Halo MCC is most certainly not pulling in 10s of thousands of new players like it used to. Sure there's still a lot of nostalgic players or even some younger players but most people playing never stopped, at least that's how it's been since mid 2023

I certainly didn’t expect Geoff to get better at Halo after all these years of watching him play, yet somehow I’m still left aghast at the level of skill on display here. I absolutely love watching these two goof off in video games together, but it’s especially special when they do it in Halo.

I stopped watching AH long, long ago, probably a yearish after Matt fully joined the crew so my memory of Geoff's gameplay is him turning his camera slower than a disabled turtle doing a 360. I thought your comment was saying Geoff was secretly a Halo god and was going to pop the fuck off. Imagine my confusion when I see his trademark sensitivity paired with him staring at the ground then shooting a rock as the VERY first thing he does. I'm only here because I wanted to rewatch VS and saw Geoff and Gavin together, but god damn I do love that Geoff hasn't changed after all these years, absolute chad.

A lot of people are mentioning "nostalgia" as how to describe what Geoff is feeling, but I think "saudade" is a better word. It's like an intense, sad feeling for a love that is most likely gone forever but still wisful. It's like, a more intense nostalgia with a sadder undertone

My mom’s favorite moment was when the guys and Millie were playing COD sensitivity training and Millie killed Geoff and she started talking shit about Geoff. Not too long later, Geoff kills Millie and says, “What was that, sweetheart?” We both laugh like loons. 🤣

Love seeing this. Totally understand what Geoff was saying in the beginning of the video, I was feeling nostalgia of Geoff Gavin and Jack playing lots of halo in the early years of AH and RT. This is the most excited for a video that popped up in my subs in a long time. This content, geoff and gavin dicking around having fun, is what we love. The feeling of being 12 again and watching you guys rushed back. Its been almost 4 years since i unsubbed from here but since the regulation gameplay announcement im subbed again and looking forward to seeing the dudes i grew up watching have fun again.

I think one of the reasons it's harder is that Halo is a lot less mainstream now than it was during Reach. Instead of a large population of all sorts of casuals roaming around you're mainly going to find veterans who know not to assassinate lightly and who would catch on to your bum-bait trap far more quickly than the average rookie would.

Man, watching this made me also nostalgic and sad. I remember in 2012 getting home from high school to watch Jack, Geoff, Gavin, and Michael play Halo or Minecraft or whatever. Over 10 years later, I'm running a let's play channel while making music with my band. I'll never forget RT for being there in my teenage years

You can tell Gavin is actually an avid player of Halo MCC because he even has his weapon position manually changed to take up less of the screen, and from his rank. Gavin may not talk about it much (probably because he doesn't want to offend 343i since RT still have a decent relationship with them), but it's pretty clear Gavin like 90% of Halo fans still love and prefer the Bungie Halo titles over the newer ones. It's wholesome seeing him still playing these old games to this day and he's genuinely into them outside of this video (whereas Geoff unfortunately does not appear to play MCC online outside of videos).
