The comment “That would totally get me excited for work” … that hit home! I used to make some crazy equipment years ago for building our structures! Tracks, hydraulics, winches, and no restrictions… and when it all comes together and does the job better than anything else out there, what a feeling
Oh, my, God. I need to go to Alberta!! Maybe I can tell my wife there's a knitting museum we need to see and then act surprised to find out it's a bunch of cool machines. Think she'll go for it?
I can’t imagine trying to run that cable dozer all day long, and you know them boys put in some long days! My hats off to the old boys who wrestled those iron giants 👍
Love that story about the polar bear! I built an ice fishing house in my garage once that I couldn’t get out the door! 🤣🤣 had to remove some trim and stuff and drag it out laying on its chassis to finally get it out. These things happen! 👍
There are all kinds of stories where someone built a boat in their garage or basement over a period of years in their spare time only to find out that they can't get it out once they retire and have time to enjoy it. It's either a huge running joke with legs or a not uncommon thing.
I've got to admit I've not laughed this hard in ages, but one other thing I have to admit is that's three people I never thought I'd see together in an old piece of iron, Rich, Chase and Peggin Leggin, best video yet. 🇬🇧
im glad to finally know what was going on. i saw Chase going down the highway south of Devon headed to Leduc a while back with one of the biggest smiles on his face and i was wondering when there would be word or a video on what they where up to in the Edmonton area love to see you guys having a great time in Alberta
I was 13 when I learned to run a dozer. 1969. It was a Cat with a cable blade like the one here. But the pulley in back would get jammed to the side and you’d have to back up to a tree and wrap it with a chain to pull it free.. It had a crank start pony motor to fire it up and my dad told me if I stalled the dozer and could start it by myself, I was fired. Dozer operators today have no idea!!
"if you go from napkin to working in 4 weeks...."...you have a functionally unlimited budget. And since it was a pipeline project for permafrost trenching, I believe they did.
Johnny the horse? I can't find any thing on him. There is a lot about a song though. I first thought it might be "Buckets the drummer" but I can't think of a reason why he would be on heavy machinery.
My dad has the exact same cable dozer at his shop. we got it running again this last fall. it was his late older brothers for a lotta years. its pretty fun to use but man you gotta keep your head straight and really get used to those controls
Holy shit! In Devon! My buddy and I made the river walker hopto wirh the twin detroits run last year and that orange d7 run this year! Bummed I didn’t get to see yall there
If anyone is curious on why Peg doesn't show his face, it's because dudes told him they wacked it to him ragging on vehicles. He says that in an old video if you can find it
