Ok...I do take some issue with this way of checking sand depth in bunkers. Moving that much sand with the foot would create an area of softer sand when filled back in. This would create pockets of soft vs firm sand in that Bunker. My preferred method is to use a flat shovel to probe the various areas of the bunker. Much less intrusive.
Good video. Shows many different techniques for different situations. Preparing them properly at beginning of season makes them easier to take care of during season. Sand Pro's can be time savers but also can destroy or damage smaller bunkers.
Seems like a ton of time wasted, honestly. We just use sand pros. This must be a course that doesn't have a lot of play... so they have time to spend like that fucking around on bunkers.
Sand Pro's wear down bunker edges and some bunkers are either too small or too deep for a Sand Pro. I don't think any greenside bunker should have a Sand Pro used in it.
