Burbank
Burbank / Los Angeles
Episode 129
Burbank California is named after a dentist turned sheep rancher Dr. David Burbank. When Burbank was settled in the 1870’s and 1880’s, the streets were aligned along what is now Olive Avenue and connected to the Cahuenga Pass. This video starts along the Cahuenga Pass, turns onto Barham Blvd (01:30) which quickly turns into Olive Ave (04:00). No trip to Burbank is complete without passing Bob’s Big Boy (06:38) or the Warner Bros. lot (08:50). From Olive Ave we hit Burbank town center and USA’s largest IKEA (17:25). We also head into the hills along Walnut Ave, where I saw a bunch of deer hanging out on a golf course (33:30). From there it’s through downtown to the Burbank airport, which is radically more convenient than LAX (45:00) and finally, past local landmark Circus Liquor (53:10).
At 456,000 square feet, the Burbank IKEA* is the largest IKEA store in the United States. In addition to massive showroom and inventory space, the store stands 3 stories tall and features over 50 room settings. A 450-seat dining area is also included along with a children’s play area and 1,700-car parking structure. Per their website IKEA Burbank “boasts nearly 2,000 solar panels and practices food composting, is also committed to sustainability and the environment.”
Burbank IKEA has not compensated this RU-vid channel in any way… but I wouldn’t mind a KIVIK sofa and plate of Swedish Meatballs with Lingonberry Jam.
