First video of 2022! Decided to release this video early. The Burbank Branch is a very small piece of track that is used as a wye as well for a business that receives lumber. Folks think that this section is abandon, but this video shows that it's not. Back in the days, the Burbank Branch, built in 1893, used to connect North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Lake Balboa, Reseda, and Canoga Park before reaching Chatsworth. The line ended in the early 90's as trains were rerouted to the Ventura Subdivision. Today, Metro Orange Line uses the right of way from North Hollywood to Chatsworth, and the section at Chandler Blvd from North Hollywood to Burbank is a bike trail. The wye is the last remaining section of the Burbank Branch. As operations, it only operates late nights mostly on weekdays two to three times a month, maybe more. Here's a video of a Union Pacific local picking up a car using the Burbank Branch. As always, sorry for the shakiness. Enjoy!
