@@haroldpearson6025 That is true but I don't know of any 5in gauge lines with a run as long or as straight as the BVR. The coaches are also exceptionally comfortable for a railway of it's size. It is my favourite miniature gauge steam railway, though I haven't yet been to the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch or Ravenglass & Eskdale yet....
There are things that the RH&DR does better than the BVR and vice versa. I do prefer the carriages and locos on the BVR, which are built to a larger gauge and are therefore exceptionally comfortable powerful for the track gauge. However, I like that the RH&DR has proper signals whereas the BVR is all controlled by VHF radio. Both are well worth a visit.
He is both Driver and Fireman. He has to watch the track ahead, watch boiler pressure, lubricators, his fire and listen for and respond to the radio! Quite a handful for one man. He is being diligent and is running his charge very professionally and diligently-not to mention Safely. His stops and starts are smooth and he blows the whistle in time for crossings. I am very impressed. And he is on schedule as well! Great job Driver!
