I love how recently ReviewBrah has gone full scorched earth on fast food as a whole. Kfc, McDonald’s and now Burger King. None of them are safe from an honest review.

I tried that burger yesterday and I was extremely pissed at the micro size and how much bun vs a burger the size of a sausage patty. They literally gave us the King Jr and called it the Big King. Embarrassing 😒

Burger King hasn’t been good anywhere for like a decade. How they’ve managed to stay in business this long with as many stores is beyond me

The last time I went to BK my husband and I ordered some ice cream only to find chunks of black plastic embedded in it. Turns out a piece of the machine broke and went straight into the ice cream. They gave me a $20 coupon that I have no intention of using since I was never a BK fan anyway especially after that incident. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. Literally. 😂😂😂

The failure of Burger King to be unable to create a distinct menu item that rivals the Big Mac is nothing short but telling of the many failures their marketing, as well as their management of resources. They use the words 'Big King' to make a pale imitation to the Big Mac, trying to pull wool over the eyes of their regular consumers. Every one of their special items always fall flat, and it's nothing short of expected. Burger King will only possess the 'whopper' as an item they can truly call their own.

It's really bizarre that BK has already had this item on the menu before - last time, with actual whopper patties, which actually made it taste better than the actual Big Mac imho - and somehow thought to change it to make it smaller without adjusting the toppings accordingly. If you're going to make a Big Mac-style burger without the bun in-between, you HAVE to portion the toppings and sauce correctly in order to avoid that overpowering tang-saltiness from the Thousand Island.

You're hands down one of the most genuine people on the planet my dude. You rock. I still can't believe fast food companies don't target their locations near you and make sure they are of the highest quality.

The "Lost in the sauce" joke got me good.

At Australia's version of Burger King, Hungry Jacks, they had a similar sandwich called the Big Jack that was a lot closer to the Big Mac. They kept it on the menu for almost a full year because people actually liked it better. I'm surprised Burger King could fumble this when there's already a proven precedent for it within their own company.

Burger King was pretty good in the '70's (yeah, I'm old). It started going downhill in the eighties and since the nineties has been pretty inedible. I'm continually amazed that they are still in business.

When he says "Going In" and takes a bite and then proceeds to thoroughly inspect the partially eaten burger...true sign of a proper review!

I've never noticed this before, but I happened to have the autogenerated subtitles on, and I've never seen that feature work this well before. You speak so clearly, the the auto-subtitle actually picked up on "chi king" correctly, and that's not even a real word.

Around 22 years ago Burger King had a nacho cheese type whooper that was outstanding. The best thing they had ever made. Used to go to Burger King once a week to get this and now I go about once every 2 years.

Burger King execs are shaking in their boots rn for displeasing his greatness

In Germany you can get this the whole year. There IS a big, huge variant called the "Big King XXL" here that is basically the size of a double whopper. I used to tell them to not put big king sauce on it and put chili cheese sauce on instead, ask for extra jalapenos and then basically I'd have a giant chili cheeseburger.

Two beef patties, stacker sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Literally the same ingredients as a Big Mac. Created for families with that one kid who wants to go to McDonald's for a BM. But it does have one significant advantage over the BM: They've left out that stupid middle layer of bun.

Was happy to see this is back. I liked it when it first came out. Got one a few nights ago and was so disappointed...almost immeasurably so.

Worked at a BK, the first thing they tell you is that their burgers and pretty much anything you eat there has an increased chance of giving you cancer if overcooked. The second thing they said was to not tell customers.

I liked Burger King as a kid, but as an adult, my experiences with it have been awful. The only thing I like is their breakfast burrito and their hash browns, and their jalapeno cheddar bites, but the rest is gross

My expectations for Burger King are just so...so low that my self-loathing increases 15% every time I go through the drive through.

Fun fact: Albany, NY is known for being a test market for new products. When I was in college in '97, we had Big Kings and Gorditas for a dollar before they were anyplace else

The BurgerKing where I live always makes you wait 5-10 minutes for your food because they supposedly make it fresh lol, thing is it’s always ice cold.

Big Mac "Special Sauce" is Thousand Island Dressing and relish. I may die for that.

The onions have a completely different taste and texture at Mickey D's, as does the lettuce. That makes a big difference. Plus the flame broiled completely over powers the taste. BK has the whopper, and I love that. They need to go back to their old chicken sandwich.

I worked for Burger King in the 90's when it was actually good. The food was quality and actually flame broiled. Since then I refuse to give them a chance especially when they discontinued the Italian chicken sub. I just don't care when I see their new promo. They either need to go back to the basics and stop w/ the stupid concepts or just close shop. As always great review Report of the week!

When I worked at BK, for five years, we did have a version of the Big King, made the same way, but with a middle bun; the meat was just 2 of our 1oz burgers, so, no, we never had a Whopper variant when I was there, but before the Stacker sauce was discontinued, I had a few regulars that would request a double Whopper, made like a Big Mac. We also had the Chicken King, a few months later during the Big King LTO, made from 2 of our value chicken patties (when I started in ~2013, these were called “Classic chicken”), and it sold VERY poorly. Not only that, the middle buns we got (which were part of our weekly order, from corporate, not from our bread distributor) were going to waste, as they only had a 7-day hold, and nobody ordered Big Kings, because, well, they just weren’t good, and didn’t sell well. That sauce was just basically a thousand island blend, with some pickles diced into it, so… nothing special. It came in these pouch bags that were good for only 5 days once opened, and since nobody ever really ordered Stackers when I started, it mainly just expired, by the use-by date, and we eventually stopped ordering it, before it was discontinued as well. The moment I saw the ads coming on from this, I went “Oh, shit, really?” because it wasn’t a commercially viable seller, even when it launched, and ended up costing us more than it was worth. Yeah, from what I recall, it was just a salty mess. Also, as an ex-supervisor and manager, if I saw someone try to serve that, I’d make them start over, and if they did it again, a write up, buuuuuuut, from your videos, man, I don’t think anyone has standards anymore in fast food, which is a damn shame, because my store USED to have good numbers (my average drive time was 1:45, on my own, as our only kitchen staff and opener for breakfast, for years, and my lunch shifts were about 2:50-3:10), and we actually got a lot of daily, good surveys, and happy regulars… I kept our kitchen and front so damn clean, the only thing SPO/REV auditors could complain about was light fixtures (in the kitchen) having some dust in them… I took some pride in my work, and my staff was some of the best, before they all moved on… I feel bad for everyone working fast food now, because I know it’s brutal work and everyone is overworked… I don’t have the desire to work it again, or for my old store, but I wish BK could pull its bootstraps up again, so people like Reviewbrah can get a tasty sandwich for once.

What amazes me is the lack of concern from the fast food industry with consistent lower quality all the while with higher minimum wage. I think they got it wrong with the less is more.

I already know it's nasty. Those smoky tasting flame-broiled patties need something to foil/counter them, which is why the whopper works. This looks extremely one-sided as far as flavor. Cheese, sauce - and that's pretty much it. A tomato might even be a big help here. So yeah, salty would be about it.

I got this several weeks ago and mine had a single patty. Had to recheck what I ordered and yep...got screwed by BK again.

I remember the Big King of the late 90's having three patties, they had a 2 for 3 back then. I use to get two of im and go to the dollar theatre. It was my "Five dollar fridays" lol

When I think of the Big Mac, I think of too much bread.

I actually just stopped at Burger King last night after grocery shopping because it sounded like a solid sandwich, but then I got the thing and thought I had gotten a mistaken sandwich. There's nothing really that makes it stand out as a Big King, it has no unique toppings, so when I get this burger that's sized like a regular burger and not sized like the Whopper, I kind of thought the store got my order wrong. Luckily since this was my first sit down order in a while I could just ask them, and the lady at the counter sounded like she had gotten this question/complaint a lot, so it seems like it's not just me and Brah. She assured me it was the correct sandwich and it just wasn't as big as the advertisement implied, which I accepted readily and sat back down. Anyway the sandwich was fine but for that size I'd rather just get a double quarter pounder of some sort. There's really nothing special to it other than the "Stacker Sauce" and come on, does sauce really make a burger? It's fine but there's other sauces I'd much rather have on my sandwich and with no other appealing details, I certainly won't be ordering it again.

yeah defs some wacky naming conventions, the big king XL (which has been on the menu for a while) is the ‘big’ sandwich, has all the same toppings, on whopper patties instead of jr. ones

OMG I love your reviews, you are SO FUN! Great review, as always. One tiny little tidbit though, I have read that McDonald's has made their "special sauce" public, and has even published it. I could be wrong, it could be one of those dang urban legends but I believe that and their Fillet of Fish tartar sauce are both in the public domain.

I thought Reviewbrah had gone retro with a VHS tape in the background, took about 4 minutes to figure out it was a 100 count box of tea bags. I'm still trying to figure out the picture stuck in the chair rail molding... I'm easily distracted.

I went to BK the other day during my lunch hour. I ordered the Ch'King at 10:50am. I was told there would be a wait, so I asked them about how long of wait would it be as I have waited about 7 minutes before for one. They said it would be about a 45 minute wait. At the time, I was the only car in the drive thru and there was only a couple of cars in the parking lot. I don't know of any "fast food" restaurant that would need 45 minutes to fry a boneless chicken breast. Needless to say, I declined to wait and went to Wendy's instead.....just to end up being disappointed (in their food) as well. Here's to better experiences in the fast food future!
