Follow up to the range test video I posted earlier. I just wanted to show off my 3d printed gun and it’s features and talk about why I decided to design and build a top break revolver.
With the money you need to get a printer that can actually print well you better spend on an actual revolver. If you can't because you are banned from getting a permit maybe you shouldn't get a firearm. This would have a place in the LTL firearms "industry" though. Enough illegally owned printed firearms around.
I really hope for modern top break revolvers. They're so cool both visually and mechanically. I'm thinking you can probably try a bottom bore barrel rather than a top bore like a Unica or Rhino.

One thing I would suggest about your design. Is possibly finding a different spot for you break release lever. Maybe on one of the sides. Right on top of the hammer feels like in the heat of the moment one could pull that down rather than the hammer. Then uh oh lol But you are definitely doing some great work here, keep it up
Cool thing about being 3d printed. Users choice. I’ve tried both. When I finally get around to finishing, I’ll probably release files for side and top thumb lever. both have there pros and cons.
I cant wait for a file drop. I personally love top break actions much more than swing outs, and It makes me sad you don't see really any modern top breaks. But this has everything I'm looking for in a semi-futuristic revolver. Super badass, and I cant wait to make one. What gun did you get the parts off of?
Man, I have a s&w model 10 parts kit that has been sitting in a drawer for a while. Can't wait for these file drops. I'm on the black lotus disc if you need any beta testers.
I’d suggest proper picatinny rails on the top, and maybe see if you can make a design with glock style ironsight slots so aftermarket irons can fit in there. Overall a super cool design and I can’t wait for a file drop
The gun looks awesome! You did an amazing job! Just so you know though it’s policing your brass not chasing your casings! 🤣 just figured your lil’ sis should give you a hard time.
So in effect it’s a Model 10 saw cut kit bolted back together into a top break? Man that is incredibly smart, especially considering the deluge of cheap Model 10 and 14 kits around these days, well done!
That’s pretty much it. I did have to do a lot more cutting and grinding to the kit parts. I’ll need to do a very detailed how-to instructions and maybe design a 3d printed jig to guide to make it as easy as possible for other people. Thanks.
Add clamshell type covers for the side. Then with a threaded barrel and suppressor it would be as quite as a bolt action. Wetwork workers everywhere would be buying 3d printers. lol

I love top breaks I have a HNR top break 38SW it's unfortunately black powder only so I've only shot it a few times but I've always wondered why no companies make a 22lr top break
You would just need to swap the cylinder and barrel. In 22lr or 22 magnum, I could probable get up to a 12 round cylinder to work. I think the HR 999 Sportsman was a top break made in 9 rounds of 22lr.
Never heard of den of tools. Looked him up. I see it. I got 8 shots out of it before the frame cracked. Revised the frame and reprinting it now. I also got a speed loader for some sweet tacticool reloading action.

Haven’t done too much, got a few test shots in back in October/November. sorry no video. Having an issue with the top latch and the primer backing out of the casing jamming the cylinder. Got side tracked with family, work, Covid, and holidays. I know excuses excuses. Hoping to get back to it soon.
I accidentally stumbled across this video today like wow I've known the creation of guns thru 3D Printing.i haven't done any 3D printing in experience. I actually made a Revolver Design Months Ago and Turned it Into an Actual 3D Model The Parts might not have Accurate measurements but it would be cool to know someone who can fix it. I Rendered the 3D Model of mine and shown it to my friends,They Were blown away

I love seeing gun concepts from other people, especially revolvers as I am a bit of a revolver nut. There's several groups on Facebook, Discord, and Twitter that are 3d printed guns enthusiast and help each other develop, design and test different concepts for guns and accessories. I joined a group called The Black Lotus Coalition. There are other groups such as 3D2A, AWCY, Deterrence Dispensed, CtrlPew, etc... . some of those guys have RU-vid channels as well. CtrlPew has a lot good information about getting started with 3d printing if your interested.

I've been wondering if anybody had decided to play with replacement cylinders for these builds. I'd kinda like to see an attempt to use the Heritage Rough Rider cylinder, think it's $29 for one, or $50 for both the .22lr and .22 magnum combo pack. Got to thinking about it after I ordered the magnum cylinder for my goofy little revolver

It’s possible, but I would have to buy the equipment to do that $$$. I would be more nervous shooting a cast cylinder over a machined one. Especially one I cast myself since I’ve not done casting before.
@@burgess5609 I don't think cast would be a problem if the right alloy was used. Engines do this kinda crap all the time , but it would take some research.
