No, Actually in Texas they would at least get 10 years for this if caught most likely. Especially if they had any previous arrest.. Home invasion/ burglaries can get up to like 20 years here.. Not to mention the fact he could have legally killed those home intruders. Its just really hard to catch people like this unless they screw up.. over time they will.
The prey on city suburbs, because they have a false since of security... And normally the neighbors don't work together like in rural areas... Those city communities are going to have to start working together... When on ring cam catches a trespasser... All neighbors at home should open their windows and rack their shotgun, So they can hear they are surrounded... One mega phone of ... get out or die... They will find a easier community to target.. They have to fear they are fighting a united front... That ain't waiting for the police to show up...
Impact glass and siren alarm makes a difference. He’s lucky they are coming around during the day when no one is home. He could be sleeping at night and they wake him up.

I assumed it was my roomate so didn't rush, but 30 seconds later, when I went out, I realized my housemate WASN'T home, and that... there was no ibe, BUT the front door WAS unlocked. I think someone was scoping the place out and decided my big dog was too much trouble maybe? I lock all the doors now...
I moved out of the city years ago.. They dont target rural areas where I live.. Because they know we shoot first.. We don't depend on the police, Because we know they won't get here in time.. I'm a little female.. But if you break in my house....You WILL be shot!
Put a ring camera by the back door. Change the door glass to laminated glass. Laminated glass has a sheet of polycarbonate on it, which makes more difficult to break.

Set up Blink cameras. When setting up the cameras, set them up lower. Need to get them at face level or lower. Bad people wear hoodies and hats for a reason. You need video of there faces.
I would be putting glass on that fence for a start if that is where they are coming from and I would keep someone in the house for a while until this stops.

high fences and two big dogs have fun leaving! LOL put glass or bar wire or three inch nails on the top of the fences so they'll leave blood behind then you can just follow the trail, let the dogs hunt! Put two big bowls out with some 12 inch shoes with a post it note on the glass saying Bubby when you get home let the dogs out to feed, beer is in the fridge so enjoy glad your back home to stay all day from the army. :)
Glass doors are the stupidest thing ever. Just begging to be burgled. Sadly my mom has glass on the front and back door so she’s susceptible to break ins too. I don’t know why homebuilders do this to people. Just put a solid door in!!!
There should be a mandatory death sentence all over the world for all home invaders. If governments do not do this, we WILL see the return of the vigilantee, and I would be one to sign up to that. Our homes have to be our sanctuary from the outside world, where we can feel safe.
