I grew up in Saarbrücken, Germany at a time when it was still French, occupied by the allies after 1945, and until 1957, and even after the referendum the French culture lasted in our region. And … there were exactly these same ships going up and down our river, the Saar (Sarre). But nobody had the idea to transform them to tourist attractions as in Burgundy, and this doesn't astonish me as our major was Oscar Lafontaine, a politician who has done nothing constructive for my home town.
