I love the square building on top of the round. I am blown away by the age and architecture of these buildings. I need to know, what the heck did they use to hold the stones together? You live in a really dreamy country. I’m jealous! ❤❤
My great grandfather x12 was Sir James Balfour of Pittendreich lived here. It is written he was the favourite Advisor of Mary Queen of Scots and very prob had a hand in the plot of the murder of her first husband Lord Darnley. Quite a slippery gentleman and changed allegiances to Mary several times and yet still managed to keep his head!
These whole ruins need to be sold, renovated and lived in. Also people living there would shield it from the elements. It's no use just standing there rotting
