See, in that case, it's TCGplayer's fault, not Commander's Quarters. It just sucks that when you click on the deck list link, the site says the minimum cost is $100+ then.
an old favorite. loxodon warhammer is decent. the new visions of phyrexia looks to do well in her deck. scythe of the wretched is fun if you can afford the cost prior to her ability.
$10-14 upgrade would be Braid of Fire. Culm Upkeep is to add 1 Red Mana, so the moment you hit turn 2 with BoF you get 1 trigger of Ashling. Also allows you to build additional counters on her after her 3rd trigger to make the turn after bigger.
I have had problems running Braid of Fire in commander. It is good on paper but mono-red has a difficult time trying to get it out early, they don't do enchantment search well. If you could float the mana with Horizon Stone it would be really good so it isn't wasted if you can't use Ashling.
@@jettblade It's a 'feels good' card, really. In Rakdos or Boros it would be miles better due to tutors, but in Mono Red it's just good if you happen on it and it doesn't lose you the game to not have it out.
@@TheAngelRaven Unfortunately that hasn't been my experience with BoF. I am not saying to not run it or that it is bad. All I'm saying is that it is a difficult card for me to run and suggesting options that works with it in mono-red so maybe other players have better experience.
Braid of Fire is an excellent card for the deck though it's still a few dollars last I checked. If I put it in I tend to also include a few creatures with mana sink abilities so you don't waste the extra mana if it lives to have 5+ counters on it. Obsidian Fireheart is a favorite of mine,putting counters on lands that burn opponents. They also pair nicely with Heartstone lowering your activated abilities costs.
Some other things to consider (not really budget) Torbran Thane of Red Fell, Gratuitous Violence, Harmonic Prodigy, and Jaya Venerated Firemage. Both Trobran and Jaya increase your damage by 2 and 1 respectively, Jaya also has the benefit to not be hit by Ashling when she pops. Gratuitous Violence can really double up your damage to everything, this is particularly effective if you have Lifelink on Ashling. Harmonic Prodigy can double Ashling's activated ability so you can spend less mana into it or stack it faster. I really wanted a BR elemental deck with both Ashlings but ended up making a RG elemental deck that has Ashling in it, I haven't been able to pop her properly but came close and since it is Omnath Locus of Rage her doing enough damage to wipe the board could be a death sentence with him out.
Harmoic Prodigy wouldn't work, since the activation checks for the number of counters on Ashling. Although it would help with stacking up more counters in the first place, I suppose.

always had a question regarding these kinda commanders, but doesn't ashling deal that damage as commander damage to all players Including yourself? So at 21 you'd kill everyone even yourself thus making lifelink as an option to try and outlive the damage pointless?
im confused in regard to sanctuary blade, would giving ashling protection from red even allow her ability to resolve? And if it did, would she still get her +1 +1 counters? I just thought of this because im throwing lightning greaves in my deck and I realized that putting lightning greaves on her would make her an invalid target for her ability (is what im thinking) I just wanna make sure Im clear in this scenario before bringing it to the table. Id love some advice:)
I realize this is a bit late but her ability doesn't target. In fact, cards that use all, each, or the like, are some of the best ways to get around protection. The protection keyword provides DEBT to the protected permanent, being that it can't be: Damaged from protected sources, Enchanted or equipped by the protected source, Blocked by the protected source, or Targeted by spells of the protected source. If a spell or ability doesn't use the term "target" than it doesn't target.

I highly recommend toralf, god of fury if you’re willing to spend a couple extra bucks. His ability can make a big enough ashling boom with enough little creatures on board into an instant way to kill all of your opponents
There’s one card in there being shown for 80 bucks when many cheaper copies are available. Yall need to learn how to optimize your carts etc. He can’t hold everyone’s hands the whole process through.
Ok is there a link or a place where you can buy any of these decks you guys show with the lists shown? I ask this because if i go on ebay and try tracking down individual cards it's going to cost substantially more than $23.00. I'm new to this so just trying to learn.

Watching this for cards that I could apply to my new Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence deck, Ashling being my Lieutenant. I LOVE how so many red spells complement these two for self damage effects. I also run stuff like Dragonspark Reactor for the ammount of Artifacts that I play in this deck, it's always a blast
i hope that auntie blyte deck of yours contains a toralf god of fury in there! The card is serious gas in a damage based deck and with damage doubler or augmenter, it can chain increasing damage through and army and hit for literally thousands of damage!
All equipment listed at 6:34 put counters on the creature. Reading the card explains the card. In addition, scaling equipment like Blackblade Reforged will help Ashling survive her own Nova and keep her PT high after it as well so you can swing.
