So nice to see Natasha again. She lives in such a lovely area. Hope her health is improving. Cooper was having the best time running along the beach. Enjoy your visit and I hope your headache is gone.
Ug I can't go anywhere when I have a migraine I literally throw up and have to stay in the dark with no stimulation. Beautiful town and trip!! Very charming area
Wow! Soooo beautiful!! Natasha looks wonderful, and La Rochelle looks soothing…(probably not so much in high season, though). Have you read, “The Wisdom of Not Knowing”, by Estelle Frankel? All about the benefits of embracing the “Unknown”…in the future, in a relationship, in life.
We cycled across SW France in 2021 and spent time in Île de Ré and La Rochelle. We even cycled across that bridge (twice!). Loved La Rochelle and we also highly recommend Rochefort. In fact we liked it so much we are going to cycle to Rochefort again this year. This area of France has a lot of affinity with Canada - Quebec to be precise - as this is the area that the French settlers sailed from on their way to Canada. It helps me appreciate my Canadian/French heritage. Enjoying this series - especially because Cooper is such a star. What a happy soul. We should all try and be more like Cooper and simply enjoy the moments.
What your friend needs at the beach is a Shebumi Shade -- so wonderful and easy to be put up by 1 person. Designed by somebody here in Raleigh, NC and they've become a real hit over the last few years since I live in Raleigh and we can drive down to the coast in 2 hrs so it's nice to take with us and we don't have to worry about umbrellas flying all over the place down the beach. Maybe I could pack one for you the next time I come to France if you order one and have it delivered to me. I usually go to Paris every Dec./Jan. And, by the way, nice to see how you're enjoying life better or so it seems! Go Jay! I love The Atomic Habits and now add The 12-Week Year to your list.
As someone with EDS with plans to visit Paris this summer with my kids, we have joked about creating a sign for me to wear on my back as I slowly try to crawl up all the stairs "Je suis handicapé. N'hésitez pas à faire le tour s'il vous plaît".
I remember seeing Natasha from older videos. One of previous students had EDS and I had to help him manage his health and let his teachers know what he would need. Cooper was sweet on the beach!
I used to live and work in Île de Ré then La Rochelle. Loved it. Being a English-speaking Frenchman made things VERY easy during the summer season. A skill in high demand. I miss it sometimes though my new region near the Pyrenees and Spain (Béarn) is equally as awesome if not more so. You should come visit
Wonderful video, and gorgeous location. Great place to unwind and enjoy nature at its best. Happy freedom for Cooper with a buddy at the beach. Note; remember to drink lots of water and sunblock for outside. Nice you get to catch up with Natasha.
Love this video! Best wishes to Natasha, always great seeing her. I’ve followed your channel for years and I feel that your friends are my friends too. Cooper looked like he was living his best life. All the best, Jay. 😊
🇫🇷Great video Jay. Thank you for the daily French joie de vivre. Here's a fabulous and funny French movie taking place in IL de Re: "Alceste a Bicyclette".
My experience is the reverse. I wake up to ducks and dinosaurs (sandhill cranes sound like movie dinosaurs) and I enjoy going to the hustle and bustle of cities. But always love coming back to my more peaceful home.
As a Brit still cannot hear La Rochelle without thinking of the Secondary school French lesson text book ‘Tricolour’ which had a lot of La Rochelle in it.
@@JaySwanson I really enjoy the music on this channel - it's a real vibe and I'll always associate it with Jay's unique brand of storytelling and Paris, lol. That said, the song off the top was hard to listen to, but only because of the intermittent voice that sounded like it was gagging, which in turn kept triggering my gag reflex (it's a problem, lol). Apart from that though, the music was excellent as always.
We are very familiar with Ile de Re. Were there (and La Rochelle) in 2022 and will pop back later this year. My friends daughter works on island from mid April to mid October. We have been going to Vendee for about 10 years with very dear friends there. So happy you could visit and sorry about the migraine. Hubby is also sufferer.
