I had to watch the beginning again! You are too funny! Wasn't laughing at you, was laughing along with you. Years ago I had double ovens and turned up the temp on the wrong oven...the one the turkey was in. My turkey was dry as a popcorn fart.
If you stir the stuffing a bit while it's cooking to move the moisture to the edges and mix it up it will cook better. I make mine in the slow cooker all the time.
Kimmy...The turkey turned to the side looks best I think. That way people sitting on both sides of the table can enjoy him. :) I would bust out laughing uncontrollably if I had to sit facing his booty. lol.

If mom isn't ready for a dog DO NOT get a dog- you will be mostly in charge of him/her all day- you will be vacuuming and cleaning up accidents... I love and have several dogs but if you're not ready don't let them talk you into it ;-)

I got the same (probably) stomach bug!! It was horrid, and the worst I've ever had. I was blasting from both ends, and went to the hospital due to dehydration. Craziness. So glad we all made it through that one. Also, the table turkey is adorable. I would either face him sideways like you had it or put it on your kitchen bar table facing toward the dinner table. oh my goodness!!! my mom did her stuffing in the crock pot last year. She uses onions and celery sauteed in butter w/ salt and pepper, tosses it with a bunch if bread cubes and put some chicken stock as needed and stirred every so often and add more stick if it looks dry. wing it! Forget recipies! 😉
When I saw notification on phone I actually said out loud 'oh dear' lol it must be hard work doing thanksgiving and Xmas in the space of a month! 😬 us brits across pond only have Xmas to contend with! Hats off to you!!!!! 😃

Hahaha! One year my oven broke, so we used not only the microwave but the webber grill to cook our 19 lb turkey. It didn't turn out fabulous lol. Now that stuffing, thats an art project! I bet the kids could have used it to draw with! Haha. I bet the house smelled for a few days. Thanks for the laugh!
Chamomile tea with some honey really helps me! I always follow the BRAT DIET which means banana rice apple sauce and toast. It's the only thing that helps me. And of course gaterade and pepto bismol. I'm glad to know you are doing much better though! Oh....and love love love your table set up!
My crockpot fail last night is almost as good as yours! We wanted to make pulled beef for tacos and burritos so we put the crockpot on high for 4 hours and we did it after work so we could have it the next day, we then forgot about it all night (our crockpot doesn't have a timer) so when we woke up the beef had been cooking on high for about 10 hours and was basically a dried out brick.... yum!

I contemplated converting our kitchen into a 4th bedroom after destroying making chicken broth.... boiling down carcass and vegetables! No word of a lie, my cousin I lived with before marrying gave us a fire extinguisher as a wedding gift. I've learned to cook really well since then, so for anyone commiserating you can recover. Good thing you were trying the dish days before you need to serve it.

Since I am a relatively new subscriber, I am binge watching random videos, so... My mother once made cornbread stuffing for Thanksgiving, from scratch. Weeeeellllll, she didn't know you had to make cornbread first, so it was like cornmeal mush, but horribly nasty. My dear brother sat there and ate it like a trooper. I still have admiration for that incident.
My elderly neighbor gave me the recipe years ago for crockpot dressing and it is meant to be the moist one however I flipped it and did it the same way ingredient wise then cooked it in my oven. The thing we don't use is celery. and I will be trippling the batch this week due to we love thanksgiving food and it will only be 4-8 and who knows if someone shows up hungry they will have food. But we will be enjoying ours for the next few days and I have lots of recipes hoping I can record the ones I love.
