Unless you've been saving for sometime (whatever that might be), or are getting a fairly big salary. Most people can't afford somethings at a ren faire out right without going in some kind of debt for however long. Which is quite unfortunate in these days. Given inflation not happening.

I went to the Bristol ren faire a few years ago and an armorer had made a full sized replica of Sauron's armor. The price tag was only $20,000, but he was also doing a raffle for $10 per ticket in which he was giving random items away each weekend and the armor as well if it hadn't sold by the last day.

The Texas Ren Faire is 60 acres in size! I work these events for a living and that one is simply ginormous. Somewhere around 250 thousand people come ever year. I mainly work the southern California and Nevada circuit but I've always wanted to do this.

Tip for Adam on throwing Hatchets. Hold it like a hammer and picture a nail on the target and go threw the motion of hammering that nail but let go of the hatchet just before the hitting of the imagery nail. With just a couple of throws like that you should have mastered throwing a hatchet. Hope he reads this.

@Nolan George Yeah alot of people don't realise the proper throwing technique for certain types of knives and hatches require you to hold it so it doesn't spin and hits the target sharp edge first

I had a turkey leg on thanksgiving but it didn't taste all that great. Now I know it was because it was the right leg. Thanks for the pro tip, Burnie!

Also they taste better when prepared on an open flame or stone oven and are decently seasoned not only just stuffed while when made on modern equipment they lose some of the taste especially if you only do the stuffing and forget to properly season it.

I've been going to that exact faire every year since I was 14. This year, I saw a guy in the crowd who I could have SWORN was Burnie, but told myself I was being silly and not to bother the poor guy with what I told myself had to be a mistake. Then I see this, and I watch the whole thing with a palpable knot in my gut for fear that I missed the chance to meet Burnie! I didn't see myself in the background, nor anybody else I attended with, but I'm always going to wonder now.

This was my first year going to the one in Texas, but I've been to others before. I brought someone with me who had never been to one, they didn't get it at all and didn't really have fun. We left without doing much. My quest going in to it was also that sweet turkey leg, and I got it. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.
