In this video we take a look at the brand new Solent Airport Daedalus EGHF from Burning Blue Design. As one of the bases for Spitfires.com this is certainly an airfield on my radar and once again Burning Blue Design have done an amazing job recreating a lifelike, detailed and interesting place to fly from.
We take a close look at the airport itself and then take a quick trip to Goodwood, the main base of Spitfires.com and another cracking recreation from Burning Blue Design. There is even some Greek mythology chucked in!

Another lovely video, sir. I'm slowly collecting these UK airfields and this is going on the list. When I was a nipper my dad told us the Icarus tale. This was a few years after he'd finished flying Lightnings for the RAF and he modified the story, saying that during Icarus' climb, instead of the sun melting the wax, the drop in air temperature led to icing and associated subsequent loss of aerodynamic performance. Lovely man, great dad but dreadful story-teller.

Another nice one Rob - Whilst waiting for a cruise ship to OZ - I spent quite abut of time around that neck of the woods Staying at a pub on the shore just down from the field - and since MSFS done a lot of flying around there using this airfield as a base for my Stearman Flights I seem to remember that it was once called Lee on Solent - Fleet Air Arm - Base

Very nice video, thank's for posting (and the FlyingIron Spitfire😉)...I've just added Solent to my ever growing list of BurningBlue Design airfields, and am just as impressed as I was with all the others. I did manage to squeeze DG's Freeware Royal Navy Hunter PR11 in yesterday, but suspect a new set of brakes will be needed!! ....P.S. as well as the cake, the sausage baps at Zero5 are to die for😋

Oh my lord, cake….sausage baps….spitfires…..it sounds like heaven down there! Well done getting the Hunter in there! Burning Blue really bring these places to life. Nice having such a good Solent and Goodwood in the sim now.

I can remember the Hunter coming off the end of the runway and landing in the drink,pilot was ok he ejected. I was just a kid then and I’m 64 now

I love the BBD airports and with this month offer I will buy all the missing ones. Love to Fly VFR in UK, even if I would suggest to do also airports that are in the north. Hope they will continue to do other ones.

Excellent review of an excellent scenery pack. I fly my own warbird out of Daedelus and provided pics of my hangar ("P") for them to use. When you pulled off the runway, you went right through where the sign for "Echo 1" should be, is that missing, or did you just taxi through it?

Many thanks and well spotted on the positioning off the runway. This was my first time coming off the runway here and I must confess I was taxying from the outside looking back at the aircraft for the final shot and yes it went straight through the sign so I cut the end fade sequence short lol! Have to say it is amazing though that you, a real pilot from there, could recognise the positioning enough that you knew the sign would have been there. Interesting!

I take it these releases just available on the PC? The level of detail in this is just insane to me. So good. (I live here and work next to the airfield). I ask as I have don’t have a gaming PC, just an Xbox series X but not the game/simulator. So not expecting this to be available in the console.

yes unfortunately at the moment it is just on PC I am afraid. Not sure if in future it might be available through marketplace though.

Cheers Snowy, I found that when I was there it was great, when I came back from looping out to sea they dropped while I was doing the approach, presumably as things started loading in and that’s what you see in this video. I did a night flight there last night in the H145 and when I returned I had no issues.

My Son in law restores and flys Tiger Moths from this airfield (Crofton Aviation). I have flown with him many times from here, including gliders when the club was still there. From what I can see it’s an excellent rendition of the airport. I myself live right on the perimeter. Will this be available on the Xbox version of MSFS?

Ah great to know! I am not sure about Xbox unfortunately. It is probably a case of keeping an eye on their website to see if there is any news.
