=====================
About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.
Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).
The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zealand band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

Every time the British Royals arrive somewhere, they should play this really loud.
@fredvan6043
@fredvan6043 9 месяцев назад
Why? I don't have any sympathy for the British royals, but it's not that they invented slavery... Slavery has existed on all continents (also long before colonization started), and while it's been abolished in the West over 150 years ago, it still continues to exist in some parts of the world (for instance in India, but also in Africa)... So I think there's other occasions where it might be even more fit to play this song really loud! 👍

@christomaya5516 5 месяцев назад
He was far better then Bob, even Bob Knowledge it. It's just Spear didn't make Comercial music. His primery focus was conceiousness
@fredvan6043
@fredvan6043 5 месяцев назад
@@christomaya5516 "Conscious" music does not necessarily mean "better" music. Anyway, very much of Marley's music was - though being commercially successful (with is not the same as "commercial", by the way) - also about spiritual and political consciousness, but it was never limited to JUST that indeed, which made him a more versatile songwriter, taking on a much broader variety of themes, moods and styles. I think it's ridiculous to state one is "better" than the other, but fact is that Marley had a much wider appeal and, more than any other Jamaican artist, was able to blend his reggae into the pop mainstream without losing its roots, its originality or its credibility (while on the other hand, in the late 1980's Spear also made a few 'slicker' sounding albums too...). Whatever: I'm just a big fan of both! 😃

Thanks for the upload!.. (THE NOSTALGIA IS STRONG) never gets old brings me back to my youth days when life on this planet was sane/normal.. these days its always doom an gloom one thing I learnt from a young age is to surround yourself with the ones you love most an people that always bring you out of a negative mindset or situation which is very little these days lol.. respect has been pushed to one side whilst the disrespectful who lack in self respect an common sense think life evolves around them.. well haha it does not and will keep getting worse until they wake up but its already too late for that.. my personal opinion is that since this technology has improved etc it has made us more reliable on what we see on social media sites also not to forget the Wi-Fi too.. we can't keep relying on technology forever because one-day the internet can stop working an will seriously damage the global economy!

Take me where. I deh deh. Universe and that's just man's similar definition. The stars, Father's children. Talk to me, next demention for there's work to be done. Do you hear me nuertuers, the Father's men are life in n which we are our Father's children. Just kicking it to those in my lane together. Respect always to my elders of eternal life in which I and I live it. One Love always to and for my originals. Truth be told. Jah rastafari

Sooo good! I saw Burning Spear live in 1983. Small club. I have pictures. I spoke with him. He signed my copie of Marcus Garvey. I believe China Smith was on guitar. I haven't look at my pictures for a while. It was in Quebec city and a snow storm was coming. We were lucky that he made it. After the show he was in a hurry to go catch a plane forToronto. He was wearing snow pants no kidding. He knew what he was doing because it was a big one. I didn't know it was coming he told me. The kind that shut down airports. He didn't want to get stuck in Quebec. The band stayed at the hôtel Concorde. I was a guess of the opener band. Messenjah from Kitchener, Ontario. Who i met in Kelowna B.C. They nicknamed me Jah-yves. Also a few months later i saw Steel Pulse in Toulouse , France. I still listen to reggae music a lot.
