Burnout Made Me Realize the Importance of Rest 🌻 Cozy, Homy, Restful VLOG

In todays vlog I want to talk with you all about the importance of rest. Something I have noticed within todays society is the struggle to truly rest - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It’s so easy to go with the flow of culture and to be busy, busy, busy ALL the time. After seeing my counselor this past week, I realized how necessary it is to take time to STOP doing school, work, and all the to-do lists. Even to take a step away from my phone, texts, and emails. So, I have been trying to CHOOSE to slow down and rest in the Lord - to take a day off to seek Him, to read, to paint, to be in nature and to make sure I recognize that I am just a finite human being who needs the Lord!

As someone who observes the weekly Sabbath, I truly find it a delight. It's certainly not burdensome and when our week has been super busy I can't tell you how I grateful I am for His Sabbath rest. 🕊

Perfect timing I'm so exhausted I've had constant headache s because I'm stressed out it's okay to rest even The Lord rested it's not a sin to rest.it is beautiful to rest especially in Jesus. He told Martha, Martha she was worried and troubled with many things. Reset it essential for our health.🌼🌻

This happens to me sometimes. It's definitely God speaking to you. It's funny because the Holy Spirit will tell me something either the day before or in the morning and then later that day, I'll go to church and my Pastor is going over the same thing the Holy Spirit was talking to me about. It doesn't happen everytime, but when it does, I pay attention!

My head was so full and I was so stressed out about the things that needed to be done. Ashley.... That's how I feel burnout also. I feel my anxiety coming on, not a good feeling. I think I need REST in GOD🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏 I been procrastinating lately. I need to Minimize my bedroom and get rid of alot of things, that I don't need or use. Because when GOD calls us home one day we can't take our things with us. Lol😂

I just love love you guys content, it motivates me in so many huge ways and I love the change in my life. During this season of finding myself and getting closer to God, I have had so many drastic changes in my life🤍. I stopped cursing, gossiping, I kicked the world to the side, and now I'm living my best life cause I invited God into it☺️🙏🏾💜. Well God lead me to keep the biblical Sabbath rest,which was there since creation. He intended that day to be to relax and get ready for the new week. He loves us and knows our needs very well... I am very blessed to have a day like this.

I watched this video at the start of my day. I paused a little after half to take care of things. I needed to clean my bedroom and bathroom. Today, my nephew is struggling in school and I decided to help him catch up instead of do my work I actually felt motivated to do. My husband comes home and folds and puts away the 5 baskets of clean laundry sitting in the corner. This is NOT normal! I was so happy and I knew it was God rewarding me for spending my time to help someone in need instead of doing what I needed to do. And that doesn't come natural to me. Now I'm on break and I'm finishing this video. Thanks for sharing! You help me in many good ways. Thank you!

Ashley, I really needed this. I am so thankful and grateful for you sharing your video's. I am a Thanksgiving 2020 - to beginning of February 2021 Covid Double Pneumonia survivor. Its been a year that I am still a long covid, long hauler of covid double pneumonia. With that have quite few health issues But grateful for God's Provisions over me. Having worked at a job for 6.5 years that was constant go-go-go, being at a new job now where the pace is more like go, I get the whole busy-ness thing. It's also a poison in the Christian community though too. There's a big mentality of "I need to be doing all these things to serve God else I'm not serving Him at all!" At least that's how I've felt for much of my walk. So I think God has placed me where I am to understand what you described in this video, being mindful of the present and let God worry about the rest. The hardest part of learning this lesson is understanding less is more as long as your heart and spirit are aligned properly.

Thank you for this, Ashley. I realized today that it's important for me to rest and it personally stood out to me that I can seek the Lord while I rest, and as you said, allow Him to work through me while resting. Today, actually, while I was making some adjustments to my room, I realized I could focus better on some things while doing something I like. I don't know about you (well, you probably don't do this) but I find it really hard to just sit in my room, doing nothing for a long time, trying to pray and sort things out. This is so wearisome (well at least for me), and just bad. If you do this constantly, actually (maybe) without you even realizing it or even with you realising it, it puts a lot of self effort and burden on yourself, it's not something the Lord wants someone to do (in this manner I mean + keep in mind I have my own situation and setting). Earlier today, as I was away from home and my room, I realized I could seek the Lord there too (at least in what I know as seeking with some first steps, being imature with some things too). I realize as I write this, that I'm probably rather working things through, or trying to fix things, than really seeking the Lord the way I should be doing. I think it's very important to let your struggles over to God and trust him to take care of you. When you 'let go', (giving it to the lord and trusting him to work it out in his good way, working alongside where you need to), you 'let God'. You anyway can't do much at all in your own effort, all by yourself. The Lord is probably waiting for you to give it to him and work alongside, in partnership with him with whatever you're sitting with. He's right there and He cares. And worrying also doesn't help. And he's not necessarily gonna snatch your dealings from you. He wants you to come to him yourself, by own choice. To the person reading, are you trying to sort things out on your own? Read Matthew 11.

I love watching you guys. You always rekindle the flame for me for the Lord. I come here today to tell you that I have been on a spiritual struggle since the pandemic started. I just had a breakthrough when I looked back through an old journal that started at the beginning of the pandemic. Also have been listening to the Bible in order on my split break at my new job. So far got all the way to Deuteronomy. I am paused there. That book opened my eyes. Along with that and the old journal look back, I had a breakthrough. in my quest to grow closer to God and know how. as I went back to the old journal, I had found an entry I had on you guys. on a side note, it said you were single. I believe this was the video you were talking about taking a break from thinking about being with someone. 2 years later, I updated it and said you are engaged! Ain't that crazy? God works through our seasons of life in mysterious ways. I want to thank you all for your contents. Mentor mama too. I am a catholic, but labels don't bother me. Christianity is all about Jesus. Thank you for helping me grow closer to God. P.S. In 2022, I made a war room that is also my craft room. a room where I go to be with God and have me time.
