Burnt Out Cathedral of Beermaking: Bass Maltings, Sleaford | Drones in Forbidden Zones 

I was a Station Officer of Grantham Divisional Head headquarters at the time of this fire and I was off duty on that day but they brought me in to supervise the water supplies for putting the fire out . We set our pumps into a open water pond at the east end of the maltings and provided a good supply . The fire was under control and contained to the one building until the senior fire prevention officer from Lincoln Headquarters came and took over command of the fire fighting.. He made the biggest mistake of fire fighting I ever saw and opened up the doors at third floor level and the hot gasses flashed through the next building and set fire to the next building. He was a real idiot and did not have a clue what to do in my opinion but it was too late and the fire kept spreading.. I was the one to do the fire report for the home office and it was so big and complicated that none of the senior officers wanted to touch it but to me it was a challenge which I excepted and I did a great job on it. When I took over in charge of Grantham Divisional Headquarters in 1974 and I supervised 10 other fir station areas for trading and fire cover at 27 years of age I was the youngest senior officer in the country.. As for the senior fire prevention officer who messed up the fire fighting for the maltings headquarters got him transferred to another county . When I was 36 I travelled to Vancouver Canada and liked it so much that I resigned and went to Canada with zero money and started a new life . I did pass all fire exams in Canada but I was over qualified and they did not know where to put me so I told them to stick it and my brother and I started a business which my son and 27 year old grandson run.. my brother and I set up a business in Cebu Philippine and at one time we employed 450 workers can you believe. At 75 I am now retired and enjoying my garden motor home.

security is incredibly tight on this one since the grade 2 listed building has had a spate of arson attacks on it, I visited the site this year to find I was being watched as I approached the gates & there is no way in
