Burushaski Research Academy was founded by "Baba I Burushaski" (Father of Burushaski) Prof. Dr. Allamah Nasir al-Din Nasir Hunzai in 1982 in Hunza and Gilgit and later it was extended to Karachi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Its' primary aim is the promotion, research and preservation of the Burushaski language, which is spoken in Hunza, Nagar, and Yasin in Gilgit Baltistan. The major original work publish through it , was by Prof. Dr. Allamah Nasir al-Din Nasir Hunzai, the first poet having "Diwan" (collection of Poetry) in Burushaski. So far, Burushaski Research Academy has published a dozens of books on Burushaski prose, poetry, grammar and vocabulary. Prof. Allamah Nasir al-Din Nasir Hunzai has also worked Prof. Hermann Berger of Heidelberg University and Prof. Tiffou of Montreal University He is the co-author of a German-Burushaski dictionary published by Heidelberg University, Germany and "Hunza Proverbs" published by Calgary University of Canada. Under the supervision & guidance of Prof. Hunzai the Burushaski Research Academy and Karachi University has published two volumes of first Burushaski-Urdu Dictionary
