Being a suburbanite with no power tools or carpentry skills, I appreciate how awesome this project must’ve been for your family. Also thanks for the 10 minute format rather than trying to be the Bob Vila of bus conversions. 🚌👍
That's a very awesome build! My wife and I have been talking about doing the exact same thing. I saw a lot of good ideas and appreciate the fact that you guys shared with the world! Peace be with you both and God bless
I see so many videos like this and I was pondering if there is some sort of revolution revisited. Im not certain if society is fed up with the idea of renting and or homeownership but, this form of transformation is a wake up call to a society that is seeking alternatives to living. I have seen entire families adopting this form of lifestyle after losing there home due to market conditions. If you are apart of generation X,Y or a millennial keep up the great work of redefining living!
While I agree, I feel like we as humans especially in democracies, should also consider fighting the "market conditions" that bring us in these troubling conditions. The way our economy and housing markets work is not natural law, they are a result of government policy. These policies can be changed, if humans band together and create political pressure.
I mean homeownership has brought me great wealth. Putting your money in a car is a depreciating asset and a very small resale market. They'd be better off putting that money in on a down payment on a house and getting a crappy rv.
Absolutely incredible job y'all did here. It's awesome that y'all have found a partner that enjoys not only the same hobbies but interests as well. Power couple.
Been looking for a shuttle bus to buy, in the mean time been doing research and just watching this gave me so much information and insight into the conversation process (as someone with almost no experience in this area) Thank you guys ❤️
Great build! I just hope you put a grey water tank and black water tank under the bus to catch all the used water, instead of it just dumping out onto whatever you are parked over.
Мне попалось это видео в рекомендациях , решила посмотреть , потому что стало интересно) И хочу сказать ,что они огромные молодцы , у меня бы наверное не хватило терпения всё это построить и поставить)
I would have chosen a different route for the sub floor. Instead of using composite plywood which will quickly deteriorate from natural elements such as moisture I would go with something more sturdy (fiberglass, plastic, galvanized metal, etc.)
You did a very good job on that build. I like the bed lift and laundry compartment. So only one person can sit on the couch? Does the driver seat turn around to face the couch? Love the tub! But would've liked seeing the rest of the bathroom instead of just the mirror. Is there a toilet in there as well? Thanks.
A tub instead of a shower and no toilet, is all I could see. Wasted too much room there and that frig is too small they should have left a cabinet out and doubled the size of the fridge. The table and chairs could double as a real couch. Other than that it was an amazing design.
Se a pessoa não estiver totalmente focada em fazer esse projeto ela desanima. Por que é bem trabalhoso...mas o resultado e satisfação do ' faça você mesmo ' é incrível. Parabéns 👏 👏 👏
Please load more in-depth videos about building of your skoolie. I was excited to see your work! Applause 👏👏👏 Your project deserves to be the sample of skoolie building!
Great work! But it's better next install a toilet than a bathtub. Especially on a long trips, you don't want to keep stop and look for a restroom/toilet every time you have to pee or defecate.
However, it must be hard to plan a toilet in this kind of building. I mean, there is no real plumbing and sewer, so where the excrements would be sent to...? That's complicated
@@carolinama135 Not really. If they did a walk in shower they could've easily make room for a toilet. Instead t hey wanted a deep tub. Also shower would've been cheaper.
WoW.. it is wonderful to see 2 people work together to make something special for you to have adventures in and make memories. Bless you both and have fun...
Pretty awesome bus-turned-into-a-mobile home/camper! The interior, the furniture, bed and decorations makes this thing very cozy and well made. It’s funny how a bus conversion is more cozy and decorative than my own room (not that my room isn’t good looking), but I’m just complementing the interior and the hard work behind this project.
I already live in a small studio apartment and id have no problem at all just living in that thing. I thought it was an awesome build and looked offly fun.
I love watching tiny living project!! 4 wheel home is my fetish. Unfortunately its not something workable in my country. U guys work so hard for a great content. Thanks for sharing it with us. Keep up the good work :) Cheers from indonesia 😄
@@MrPipe007 nah, if you really wanna do it, you'd be able to do it for sure even in Indonesia. It's just gonna be more complicated and relatively more expensive. Also, probably won't gonna be that comfy given the hot weather. You'd want the air conditioner to run 24 hours a day. Another challenge would also be the road, because I'd assume if you are building this, you'd wanna bring it in mountainy area or like camp-able area at least, and a lot of roads to those sites aren't well developed yet. Though, the biggest challenge would be the former, imo.
Wow! What a fascinating pleasure to watch. I love your design although I missed cooking style and I like larger fridge. The table with two chairs situated for looking out the window is a perfect idea. I imagine you are an awesome couple. Thank you for sharing. Namaste-
Ever since I seen Summer Holiday with Cliff Richard I wanted to do this. Then in 84 I seen one at Glastonbury which was amazing. Wood burning AGA that ran radiators and shower. Pre solar panel DAYS, family of 5 lived in it full time and had been for years. Then the laws changed and outlawed alternative life styles.
Very very nice......skill, gift, talent really apparent. Awesome job, extremely nice, I am intrigued by this van life thang, as I heard uts full time pt and wknd only for some. I would b concerned about maintenance, breakdown, unexpected emergencies, income/money /employment, etc etc etc, but from viewing it looks very inviting. Safety & protection a concern
I saved this one. I want to use a few ideas for our build. Y'all did a great job and work well together. I love it and gives me hope for our build. I also wanted a tub and I'm glad to see you got that in there.
Good ideas for simple travel and living. My real question is not including water storage. What weight dose it work out to. Did you meet or go under over the vehicle or RV weights. It's my major worry when I want better materials .
Looked like you had no protective gear on when you pulled up the flooring. I clearly saw mold when you pulled that flooring up. Mold can mess you up bad, especially if you have genetic susceptible. What was the white stuff you were painting on the metal and the subfloor and why?
I noticed this too because of a story that stuck with me about someone renovating a house they bought. As they pulled up the carpet, the edge of it nicked their leg and they ended up getting a flesh eating disease and losing the leg. Years old carpets are nothing to be messed with, you wear thick clothing and a respirator, nothing less.
Amazing. More and more guys are doing this projects. In the pandemic I saw a guy buy a school bus too and invest the same 10k . I like this one because they make the bathroom. I saw a lot of ones but without the bathroom. They need to stay in places where you pay to take a bath. Smart kids.
When im older and im living alone i want to live inside of a bus. Just for the thrill of waking up every morning and smiling because i can say "I built this". Theres only two things that i dont like about van life, one of my problems were proven to have a solution in this video. 1. I thought you could shower/bathe and 2. Im not sure if you can have a tv or not. I love this so much
Hey ... we hardly got a look at the finished results guys ! A bit longer spent on viewing your lovely work would be much appreciated. Too short ... please update when you have time with the full conversion of your bus. What you have done so far looks fantastic. Cheers from New Zealand
I hope you're going to beef up the suspension all that extra weight you are putting on there will definitely impact your shocks or struts, nice job though
It actually works the opposite way . It's designed to carry a lot of people so the brakes/suspension etc can require constant maintenance due to not being worked to their designed capacity , not to mention taking dozens of heavy seats out before commencing work. It's a common issue on bus conversions.
Good job. You could've used self drilling #12 buildex screws to attach your floor framing though. Less work. Food for thought on your next one. Beats the crap out of an expensive RV. That's for sure.
Wonderful job, well done. You could go into business! However the "music" was horrific and not complementary to your excellent work. Much better to do a voice over telling a little abt what you were doing as you worked, it would lend a really personal touch, and it would have enhanced the video. I turned the vol off and the video was 100% more enjoyable.
Lots of hours. Satisfaction of doing it yourself Etc..Etc...Etc But do you have a skill that pays??? Did you spend time working on the van you could have used to make money doing something that pays well? Or, are you trying to make this a business that pays well.
