I am amazed that there was absolutely no concern for the safety of the dozens of people including small babies. I cannot even imagine something like that taking place in the US, or any modern western country.
I know your post was several years ago. I served in a number of places in Southeast Asia in the military. There was a rule: The larger vehicle had the right away. I would have picked up on this had the videos played at regular speed. It seems nothing has changed. I still understand a fair amount of what they are speaking. I was there and saw this in real life. One night I had taken a rather nice bus from the base to go to Bangkok and a very large truck had run over a small Datsun pickup. It was loaded in the back with people catching a ride. All that was left of the people was a huge area of blood. In short a huge greasy spot on the highway. It made me physically sick and I had seen a huge amount of blood shed. They would place a bench on each side in the back, a canopy overhead and you rode for a nickle. It was just awful. This was in Thailand but I served in several other places as well. The rule was the same. I don't even know if you had to have a permit to drive. What you see in these videos is exactly the same as in the 70's.

Lmao @ escalators! Those are automatic stairs like in a department store. That would be EXCAVATORS friend, lol. Like as in excavating earth and rocks from a quarry. Thanks for uploading this. The operators were very good, I like their nerve too - drop a few buckets of dirt beside the road then drive down the cliff edge. Did anyone else notice the single man helping for a while to push the bus up the hill at the front, drivers side. A successful recovery, it must have been the 20 people shouting instructions all at once that helped!!.

That was full sized bus! About the only thing you can build to stop that would be a wall of concrete! But then it would have killed most of the people on the bus! Even in the US it's almost impossible to stop trucks and buses with guardrails and barriers like that.

kepada saudaraku yang ingin berwisata di pantai - pantai kabupaten gunungkidul untuk selalu berhati-hati jika melewati jalur siluk - panggang, jalan memang nggak terlalu padat akan tetapi jalur ini ada sedikitnya 2 tikungan/turunan tajam, salah satunya ada dalam video ini, yang beberapa waktu yang lalu ada bus terperosok dikarenakan "kurang menguasai jalur ini", jika anda memakai bus besar usahakan selalu mengingatkan sopir, jika anda memakai kendaraan kecil hindari berada dekat dibelakang kendaraan bermuatan berat unutk menghindari kendaraan tidak kuat menanjak, jika ada di jalan menurun usahakan di belakang kendaraan bermuatan berat berat untuk menghindari rem blong dan sopir yang kurang perhitungan, kebetulan saya setiap hari lewat jalur itu
Bis ini dulu sempet punya trayek Prambanan - Palembang kalau gak salah. Mungkin driver belum menguasai jalan sekitar, atau bisa karena ngantuk. Btw itu evakuasi bisnya lewat jalur excavator ya om?
