Happy Thanksgiving!
Among the scrap metal yard, past a shutdown landfill, hidden in the brush behind a bus stop you'll find the lonesome headstone of Fred H. Ramsey. A cemetery burial plot not well known by Portlanders.
Though one headstone is displayed at this cemetery there's actually a few individuals who reside here. Amongst them are four Native American women, who are rumored to be the wives of Fred Ramsey. However, when we dive into the history of Fred and the cemetery we find odd stories, digging up of graves, and random items found buried within the cemetery. Perhaps we have another local legend or myth without concrete evidence.
This is a very loud area during normal weekdays. In addition, please take a friend and be at peak awareness. The area is rather sketchy. I'm told that the local businesses don't mind you parking in their lots as long as you ask for permission. I visited on a holiday so it was rather quiet and had the whole place to myself......at least I think I did.
