Hi! Thank you for your question and comment. I will answer your question. Below is the official website for the bus service, which provides information about luggage size: www.jrbuskanto.co.jp.e.wn.hp.transer.com/bus_info/notice.html In summary, the luggage requirements are as follows: (1) Total weight: Up to 10 kilograms (2) Total volume: Up to 0.027 cubic meters (approximately 30cm x 30cm x 30cm) (3) Length: Up to 1 meter (4) Loading luggage into the trunk should be around one piece per person. If your luggage exceeds the above size limits, you can place it in the trunk room for an additional fee of 500 yen per item.

How long do you get at the rest area?

The break time is approximately 15 minutes. Announcements are made in Japanese, but a panel displaying the departure time will be placed on the bus's front windshield. You will have time for a restroom break and to buy a few souvenirs. The actual break time may vary slightly depending on road conditions and the busyness of the service area. Even if you don't understand the Japanese announcements, you can ask the driver for assistance. The driver may not speak English fluently, but they should be able to answer basic questions about the break time in simple English.

The name of the bus terminal in Kusatsu Onsen is "Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal" in English. The Japanese notation is also "草津温泉バスターミナル".
