Thank you for nice video! I really love American buses. Comparing to European ones they look strong, stylish, serious and durable.

The JTA Gillg buses all have interesting history, and you never know which fleet you’ll end up on. An 19 year old flat-roof frame BRT 40? A standard low floor 40? A first coast flyer? The 2013 hybrid buses? The electric low floors? The CNG BRT pluses? The short BRTplus 35’s? Riding on the JTA fleet is full of surprises.

They need to retire the 2007 BRTs. About half of them are still in service. But what's weird is that they retired the 2008-2009 standrard LFs (1701-1709 & 1901-1906). And besides one that I know of that was in an accident a few of the 2010s are retired (2101-2103, 2105-2106, 2111, 2112 (in accident). I've been on E2910 one time by myself on route 13 in 2020 during social distancing and I saw E2909 yesterday starting up on Route 81. They rarely use those on any other route or at all at that matter other than routes 81 and 82. I don't know why they don't use the three 40 ft trolleys no more. Those still should have a lot of life left as they rarely used those. I remember when they use those occasionally but that's been some years ago. #2020 is used as a bus exploration at the Armsdale center. I have the bus tracker on my phone so I know exactly where each of the buses are located even when they are at the garage, therefore I know when they have received new buses at the garage by the bus numbers. I saw two of the brand new buses yesterday the first one being bus 3304 and the other one I couldn't see the fleet number but I knew it was one of the new ones because the rear door slide open on these buses. Also the rear doors are a little wider since they slide open. They just started service in March and it's 18 of those, so I'm surprised they still haven't retired the original BRTs yet.

@@logical-minds But I like the 2007s and 2010s because they got that amazing sounding ZF transmission and they got decent takeoff speed to them. It's really a shame that they are retiring these for those tight spaced BRTPluses especially the 3200s (2022s) and the ones that don't have overhead screens (2200s-2800s), but I love the 3300s (2023s) though. MDT does have 2006 NABIs in service and I rode on one (6141) and it's way better than those horrendous 2016-present NFI XN40s. Also BCT still have NABIs and they are still better than those 2018-22 crap Gilligs.

@@logical-minds I agree with you what you said about the 2005-07 gilligs as there the oldest in the fleet currently, honestly they should replace them with the New flyer XE/XN40s in the near future. Last week I tried to get on of the elusive Gillig e-whales (E2909) but it went out of service on me and winded up on a 19/17 year old rustbucket. 😐

@j6ajackson34 I never been on any of the 2022 nor the brand new 2023 as I've had gotten another car back then and moved out of Jacksonville in last December. But I have seen how the 2023 is look as I stated in my last comment. So what makes you like the 33xx over the rest? Is the interior spec differently then the rest of them other than the sliding rear doors? And since the rear doors are wider and slide open that takes up a few seats as the bus itself is 40 ft. Now the 3100s had a weird order because some were 35 Footers and some were 40 Footers but they wasn't in order by size because 3101 is a 40-footer but 3102 through 3112 are 35 footers. But then, 3113 through 3116 are 40 footers but 3117 is a 35 footer. And it's broken down even further being that some are CNG with the Voith transmission (same as 2800s-3000s) and some are diesel with the ZF transmission.

The 2500s-3200s and FCF B025-B058 are the primary JTA Gillig bus fleet, while the B001-B024 (FCF), 1600s (2007 BRTs), 2100s (2010-11 LFs), 2200s (2013s BRTs), 2400s (2014s BRTPluses) and 3300s (2023 BRTPluses) are being used as contingency spares.

For some reason the JTA app is telling me I had to walk 4 blocks to catch a bus that's going to pass in front of my hotel. The 17 bus doesn't have a stop in front of Scottish inn on Philips hwy. Do you have any idea why?
