So happy I got to meet them and see them again for a second time on May 16th. Told GAVIN that this was our song that my husband and I danced to after we became man & wife. He passed in Oct of 2022. Bush came to my city and had a concert on February 24 which is my husband's birthday. I also told Gavin that too. He said beautiful. Means so much to much.🖤🌹🫶
I was blessed to get to shake this man's hand backstage at Bentonville ar concert with breaking benjamin and Alice in chains. Best birthday I ever had, breaking benjamin was the one who gave us back stage passes Another great 90s band.
What memories, listening to this song and Machine Head get continuously played on KROQ 106.7 and Star 98.7 FM here in So Cal when I was a teen back in the 90s.
It almost appears that whomever survived our GenX is there…except I’m seeing it now on youTube in tears. Saw them at the Britt Fest in Jacksonville 12 years ago. Small venue, pouring rain. They couldn’t have been better or more intimate
This is one of the three most important songs for me. It takes me right back to 1999, being only 19. I left Europe for the first time to live in the US for a year. One of the first nights there, sitting in the car of my host parents, turquiose skies over the calm waters of the Long Island Sound. Radio on, Glycerine. A core memory was being created in that moment. Complete freedom. I will definitely kill my loved ones if they don't play this song at my funeral in the hopefully very distant future. Thank you Bush for this (and many others) incredible song!
@@marniekilbourne608 me too! I think it was 1996 or 1997 when I saw them live at a festival called Hurricane, which was close to Hamburg in Germany. I only wish I had known back then how very important this band would become to me only a few years later 🥹
Never heard it before and it's on the list of my top 3 shittest songs that I will avoid like a rabid pit bull in a playground on a chain connected to a peado priest when I was 7. The literation is more like illiteration and the guitar melodies are worse than a very small hammer repeatedly hitting me in the cranium as I try to sleep.i hope my grammar is and was correct.
@uwelehmaxx8416 It's OK. Since you are African, we will cut you a break on grammar. Mess up as much as you want, and I'll keep people from making fun of you. You are doing the best you can. Respect.
It must be your skin, I'm sinkin' in It must be for real, 'cause now I can feel And I didn't mind, it's not my kind It's not my time, to wonder why Everything gone white, everything's grey Now you're here, now you're away I don't want this, remember that I'll never forget, where you're at Don't let the days go by Glycerine, glycerine I'm never alone, I'm alone all the time Are you at one, or do you lie We live in a wheel, where everyone steals But when we rise, it's like strawberry fields If I treated you bad, you'd bruise my face Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste Don't let the days go by Could have been easier on you I couldn't change though I wanted to Should have been easier by three Our old friend fear and you and me Glycerine, glycerine Don't let the days go by, glycerine Don't let the days go by Ah, ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Glycerine, glycerine Oh, glycerine, glycerine Bad moon whine again Bad moon whine again As she falls around me I needed you more, we wanted us less Could not kiss, just regress It might just be clear, simple, and plain Well that's just fine, that's just one of my names Don't let the days go by Could've been easier on you you you Glycerine, glycerine Glycerine, glycerine Songwriters: Gavin Rossdale
At first, I didn't like the singing because it lacked enthusiasm and sounded phoned-in (in the literal sense of the word). It was really bothering me up until the end of Gylcerine when I caught what was actually happening. He downplays the singing during the less impactful sections, then dials it up to 11 during the best parts for the maximum range between extremes. All of Grunge was based on the Loud/Quiet/Loud/Quiet dichotomy, so that's expected. The range between extremes here is not volume, but intensity and effort. Bush is awesome.
For me this is a timeless classic now! Just added it to my Shellshocked Radio Recommendation List: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ckH-03VRujs.html
Damn this version of glycerine sounds like shit... Somehow makes for simple power chords sound like shit, and shows a limited vocal range that still falls painfully flat. Hopefully it gets better, cause I know Gavins capable of it
@Justin J Crouch I do. In fact I like bush, and I LOVE glycerine particularly. It's one of the first songs I learned to play. I'm just saying he's done some iconic live versions of the song, and this one wasn't very good by his standards. If I sounded like this I'd be thrilled lol. I'm just saying, not Gavins best performance imo
