When I impulsively clicked on this video, I underestimated the emotional memory attached to this song. I can't remember the last time I heard it, but I can remember every word, every note of the cello part, many people I heard or played it with in high school, and where we were at the time. I see from the comments that I'm not the only elder millennial feeling this way! Hello, my fellow children of the '80s.

Sixteen stone was one of the first cds are ever owned. This came out when I was 10 ha. Crazy how Gavin’s voice took me RIGHT back to the mid 90’s. Wow.

I remember racing through the forests of Southwestern Montana on a mountain bike and listening to this album with a lover, feeling as if I had the world by the tail. Sweet memories of Bush and being 27 years old. A lifetime ago for sure.

I was bartending at Ruby Tuesday in Jackson MS in 1996 and the Goo Goo Dolls came in for a few rounds, they were the opening band on Bush’s tour at that time. Left a pair of tickets when they tipped out! Good Times

Bush!! 🥰 I was at their very first American show at the Stoned Pony in Asbury Park NJ in 95, and this performance of my fave ❤ song of theirs (brilliant) was just as good as it was back then. (And one of my fave songs to cover) I remember me and my bro showed up early, and these awesome dudes in this band put us on the guest list!!! And, Actually, they all signed my journal, which I still have to this day🥰😘💞. Love you guys.

i loved Bush so much when Sixteen Stone came out. Saw them in 97 for Razorblade Suitcase, still have my concert shirt from that show. I got to see them again in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom on Halloween Night 19 years later and it was absolutely amazing. Gavin was hanging from the balcony of the second floor wearing an all orange jump suit. I've seen like 60 shows in that venue and never seen anyone do anything like that. The encore was Machine Head, The One I Love (REM Cover which was mind blowing) Glycerine and Comedown. Only thing I would have added was Alien to that show, which was my falling asleep song when i was 15. Sixteen Stone still holds up and is in a constant rotation for me to this day.

2/17/1995 Greenville Auditorium Greenville SC. Me, Mike, Matt, Samantha… we all went and it was awesome. Bush, No Doubt, Goo Goo Dolls… Right up in front on the right, by the wall… I miss being 14/15 years old. Jesus I’m middle aged. 😳 Gavin has aged REALLY well!!!

I got to catch them on tbeir Loaded Tour in my home town, was my 1st time seeing them and I'd waited about 27 years for the experience. Was surreal to me. As I aged from a teen with Sixteen Stone, Razorblade Suitcase, and The Sciece of Things- Iost track of my favorite bands as I began working, moving around, and starting a family. I've continued listening to my favorite 90s tunes all this time, but at the concert they played some amazing songs that I had never heard. I've taken a deep dive into their "new to me" stuff from the last 10ish years and I'm honestly blown away. I like Blood River, Heavy is the Ocean, and others as much as their old stuff honestly. I actually feel they're better now. I hope their stuff is having as much an impact on some people now as it did on me all those years ago.

27 years ago, ln1997, i had my first kiss hearin this song, sharin a walkman headfone with my fist date, Amanda, on the stairs of high school build in São Paulo, Brazil! Even today, I can remember the taste! Greats times!

I love that he’s playing a Jazzmaster. I always picture him with that or a Jaguar. For my 15th birthday, I got SP’s Mellon Collie, Weezer’s Blue Album, Bush Sixteen Stone and a Sony Discman. Before I owned the cd, I’d try and record the song from the radio on a cassette tape. I’d always miss it. So many cassette tapes in late 1995 that had the first thirty seconds to a minute cut off the beginning, or the DJs talking over the intro.

I bought a brand new car in 1994, and it actually had a CD player. Most cars prior to that all had cassette tape decks. The first CD I played in that car was Sixteen Stone. What a great time that was.
