I dont know, I think clearing a little bit is probably the worst advice ever. At the rate of spread of this plant, clearing a little bit is like doing nothing at all.
I remember when I first heard of the 'mosaic' approach it created a lot of hesitancy for me. When words like 'not too much' are used it becomes very subjective. I liked the explanation used though (talking about other weeds moving in) and I think that should be added to the 'mosaic' description. That is, try not to disturb the wildlife and don't clear more than you can maintain. I think that gives a bit of guidance to what is a suitable area to work on?
