Wow! When the bacon was dropped... that is the 1st time I have EVER heard Simon use a swear word! But he did drop bacon, so it's understandable! Great video as always you two! Thanks.
Had to make an agonising choice who's film to watch. This week i went for Andy's. Good job all round though guys. The food looked fantastic. Catch you both again soon. Gary.
That was a huge amount of fun to watch without having to lift a finger lol. Makes me wish I was 30 years younger thak-you so much for sharing your adventure, reminds me of my gunflint trail days on the boundary waters that we share with our Canadian neighbors, can't wait to see your Sweden adventure thanks so much again bless you both.
Hahaha the ending was glorious, i had to rewatch 3 times because it was too funny.😂 Other than that nice video and nice meals too. Thanks for sharing. ✌️
Brilliant video. I haven't eaten for three days thanks to tummy bug. That dinner had my mouth watering. I hadn't heard of Simon before. Now I have I have another top bloke to watch. Cheers.
Great video 👍 as a Advansted canoeing instructor with 35 years of experience including running canoe camping trips in Canada and lots in Scotland with many groups I highly recommended you get some canoe coaching before your big trip you will find life a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable when you’ve up your skills 👍 Paddling an open canoe is a bit of an art form but a game changer when you can 👍 Best of luck and enjoy your videos 👍 Best regards 👍😀🐾
So glad I found your site. I was getting sick of listening to those American accents and looking at scenery I will never be able to visit. Love your site much much better 🥰 Thank you x
I never canoed the Wantsum, but paddled the Stour many, many times. Got my BCU Proficiency Certificate on the Stour at Plucks Gutter in 1982 or 83... a long time ago! How this brought back my youth... I don’t know how any of those ditches I fell in!
Beautiful wooden canoe you have, so light and strong looking. Simon's got the right idea, that hammock tent thing, keeps you off the ground which solves all sorts of problems.
Thanks Karl.. thats Simons cedar strip canoe that he built.. very talented man and generous for trusting me in it :) I would hammock but I just don't sleep well in then unfortunately :(
Both venison potatoes at Dinner and Breakfast bacon sausage topped With Cheddar Prepared also with hash browns all looked very good Safe Travels Cheers to You and my buds Ian and Phillip Over the Pond in The U.K.
Hey Andy, as you're apparently new to canoeing, get a paddle and practice in your bathtub. After all, my grandson just learned what fun it is to play with a torch in his bath when I told him his mother did that when she was his age and lent him mine to do so. Actually I could do a publicity video for Nitecore showing that their product does quite well at this...
Nice trip out there Andy, always good to see guys out in canoes. This isn't a criticism just an observation. Try not to wrap your thumb around the shaft too often, you'll end up with a hot-spot or worse a blister. It's a hard habit to break though, so as a precaution have a fingerless glove in your pocket, I've found sailing gloves are pretty good. After 40 years I still catch myself out, like I said not a criticism just experience :)
Hiya Si, Thanks for the advise mate.. I do have some fingerless gloves I got for the first canoe trip, def digging them out for Sweden, Ill bare that in mind, cheers.. also.. I keep meaning to email you to apologies about nuns cross.. Just had so much going on around then and truck was in the garage (which incidentally still doesn't bloody work)
Did the stab and stuff garlic into a Tri Tip roast and a person that had never had it freaked out, was worried I ruined the roast cutting the grain, said the juices would run and it would be dry. It was perfect and juicy with steamed in the meat garlic, he freaked out again on how good it is. Do not doubt garlic in the roast!
Nice one Andy. Looks like you had good fun and both of you cooked some real tasty food. Can't believe Simon let you borrow his canoe!!!! Lol. Hope you both have a great time in Sweden and looking forward to watching the videos. ATB
have you noticed: Simon is always in front 😀 Oh, Andy, you are privileged to use the fancy canoe? I just love it when the two of you are on the go. I live in Belgium, never heard of a Blue Moon, although we have the best beers in the world. 🤣
Great video Andy! 👍 Really looking forward to the video or videos that are created from the trip to Sweden! Just enjoy the trip... To Sweden of course! 😂
Old style strip wood canoe - sweet! You may want to try a kayak paddle for solo canoeing, much easier that side to side paddling, in my opinion, for what it is worth. That venison haunch looked fabulously delicious, I could almost smell it from way over here across the big pond! Somehow I got behind in my subscription viewing, you and several other bushcrafters - Spring weather has a way of getting me out of the house! Looking forward to watching the Sweden trip. As always, stay safe!
Great Trip Fellows. Nice to see some great cooking and topped off with a few Fine Brews... All Day IPA is one of my favourites and it is brewed only a few hours from where I live. Lovely swans at the end as well... looking forward to more videos... Canoehound
Andy you are so funny. You saved the best for last. Simon I want to go on the next trip. LOL I don't think Sweden is ready for you guys. Good down to earth camping and nice to see you don't hold any funny moments out. loved this video the best. Peace from USA Girl
Great trip Sir! It looks like you J-stroke was refined nicely by the end of video. I'm glad that I found you through Simon. I'm watching this while waiting on video 3 of the Sweden trip. I would love to do that trip. Maybe one of these days... Cheers!
You guys eat better in the woods than I do in most restaurants. You two have such good chemistry and complementary skills. Have you considered tag team wrestling?
Another great video Andy. Can't wait to see the trip to Sweden. If you guys do it again , you should think about Canada 🇨🇦. Lots and lots of lake's. The capital of canoeing 😄.
Great vid Andy mate and good practice for your upcoming trip. You feasted like kings 👌. Sorry dude but i did laugh when you slipped on the bank but hats off for leaving it in 👍. Your canoe is a real looker mate. Thanks for sharing Andy. Atb Sconja 👍
Great effort Andy and Simon. The cooking was Cowboy Kent Rollins meets Kent Survival, lol. Nearly went for a swim there Andy, good recovery and fair play for leaving the "slip sliding away" segment in. lol. ATB Moose.
Great video guys, looked like you two had an enormous amount of fun 🤩 and the lamb (was it lamb)?... or venison, whatever, that looked like top grub 👍🏻
Nick Stone on his own! 🤣 It didn't take you long to get that J-stroke down. You'll be fine. It's hard to believe Norway is only a month away already. I am looking forward to watching you guys' shenanigans over there.
Only half way through will have to watch the rest later looking good so far tour canoe trips do make me want to get out and do it with a camp at the end of the day. Can't wait to watch the Sweden trip I'm so jealous but I have kid's so can't that just yet😁👍
Beer Deer Bacon & Gravy what else could a man want ?! Andy awesome video I know it's a pain in the butt to have to go back for the camera but your videos are great ! Thanks Brother keep them coming I'm watching !!!
I love my cast iron cooking vessels, but the older I get , I'm liking my stainless steel cooking things . I carry salt n pepper, total seasonings , Adobo with pepper, not too much more seasons, I'm curious as to how the rest of your seasons would taste in the foods I cook
As soon as you mentioned Wantsum made me think you were off for burger and chips again lol lol @ "Im glad im filming " which means thats a possible £250 lol One of the things i like about Simon's films is his cooking skills shame there is no camping versin of Master Chef Really enjoyed this video thanks for sharing
Well that was fun. It's cool that you both chose slightly different footage; both of you made good videos. Looks like a fun trip and you got really good with that canoe, so Sweden should be more fun because you'll have better confidence. I'm really looking forward to the videos of that trip.
