Finally we have build our own basecamp!! Welcome for a first tour. We celibrate our first episode in the basecamp with some good food and a cool knife review!
Our great hero in survival and bushcraft: Lars Fält. Good friend of the famous Ray Mears. He designed this great bushcraft knife togheter with Casström. We are impressed. The knife doesn't only look good but it performs also impressively well. Bon apetit and enjoy the West Coast Bushcraft show.

Upptäckte precis er kanal! Riktigt bra och intressant innehåll, bor Själv i Göteborg och tycker det är lite extra kul när man får se bekanta miljöer. Är lite inne på att köpa Lars Fält kniv och kanske är det denna recension som får mig att trycka på "köp-knappen" Tack för videon och ha det gött!!!

As you know, this knife comes in Sleipner steel, also. What do you think of Sleipner? Would you recommend it? How easy is it to Sharpen in the field? Thank you. Awesome vids, guys!!

Hi! Thank you very much! Yes Sleipner Steel. Unfortunately we don't have a knife from Casström in Sleipner but we asked our bushcraft buddy and knife nerd Gearofsteel (instagram) and he has one in Sleipner and most likely is going to buy the Lars Fält in Sleipner as well. Like with K720 Böhler steel it is good to oil the knife in after use. Regarding sharpening Gearofsteel mentioned that with a Fällkniven DC4 and some stropping it becomes hair popping sharp. So very easy to sharpen. Now I am pretty curious testing Sleipner myself haha. Take care!

I chose the N°10 SFK, I actually loved the ergonomics of the handle even more than the other two (for my hands) Loving the vids guys!!

Thanks a lot David! Yeah Casström did well with the N°10. Looks a bit strange on first sight but good ergonomics!

LFK has a great handle and indeed a good length for batoning, it's quite light and nimble for its size cause well balanced. Woodman is a bit short for this purpose but you can certainly work around that. Scandi grinds are a bit steep on both, so they shave nice but really do suck slicing food. Ofcorse you can shave your sausages and split your veggies to rateable pieces ;) I reground my LFK for more versatility to a saber convex and am quite happy now. It is one of the best options in a midprice bushraft/outdoors production knife out there IMO!

which knife do you use the most, which is your first choice? what type of grinding do you prefer, and if so why?

@AndreasNilssonSweden the knife we use the most: Lars Fält from Casström. First choice knife: the Lt Wright Illuminous 5 and the adventure sworn mountaineer both in cpm3v. Preferred grind: shifted from convex to scandi. Works best making feathersticks😁👍

@@westcoastbushcrafters I myself have a Caström Lars Fält and a Caström Swedish forest Knife #10 full flat grind, the Lars Fält knife can be made extremely sharp and I think both work very well to make feathersticks with, however, the Lars Fält knife is not as good as the flat grind for fooodprep and everyday tasks. as long I have a axe whit me I go whit the SFK, and if I need to kill some wood :) I have my Lars Fält (scandi) or my Peltonen M95 (saber grind) to do that. Ps: Peltonen is very good att food prep to 👍
