please keep on making videos it has been the best long term shelter I have seen on you tube especialy using the cable ties makes it so much easier and faster
I cannot thank you enough, sir, for these wonderful instructional videos. They take me back to my Boy Scout days over 50 years ago. May the Good Lord Bless you and yours and may good health accompany you throughout your life. Denny Eller KY USA
Wez great Video you have a lot of Knowledge which i shall take out to the Hooloo and I think using zip ties is a perfect alternative especially when it is raining ! ! :-)
Wesley is very good friends with my dad and he's very much alive and well. I shall remind him to get on to doing another video because he really knows his stuff.
+Gareth Mills Please do!!That would be great because he's made some fantastic videos and I'm sure could make many more even better ones!Plus the man's from home country🐉 I know I'd come straight back to the channel if there were news of new vids!
best series on YT. I have learned much, and resonate with your approach. it is clearly built upon a foundation of experience and pre-planning. keep well.
Thank you so much for this series! You've done an excellent job. Not only is it educational, but it's been intensely inspirational and I can hardly wait to get out in the bush again now.
I woke up at 4 am and started watching your videos I love them they are great thank you sir for your time and hard work ... We need more people like you sharing their wisdom , once agin thank you and may God bless ...
Thanks so much for posting this very informative series. Please don't wait so long to post more. You certainly know your craft and I can't wait to learn more. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for all you do, Wez. Please come back online and share more video(s), don't get discouraged by those negative comments on your channel, you are so much better than them. I enjoyed every single minute of these shelter-making series, it's always nice to be able to learn different methods of survival shelter-building from different cultures/countries. I really hope you'll be back soon!
thanks! seriously there are no words to even describe all of this! thank you, this is my favorite shelter i have seen built on youtube/real life/etc thanks
Great videos! I especially liked the series on long term wilderness shelter. You make it look so easy. Thanks for explaining each step as you went along.
I was so blessed to watch this series. The best I have seen. I do hope you make more; I am a single older woman with little outdoor skills, and this has given me inspiration. Thank you and God bless you.
This is one of my very favorite video series. I really hope you do more, sir. Your skill base is becoming so rare in the world. I pray it never becomes lost altogether. Thank you so much.
ive just watched these videos. they were great. i have been watching all your shelter vids as i am going on a scout camp soon and have been given permission to build a shelter. Thanks Matt
I like your Shelter series. I'm planing to make a semi permanent shelter myself. Your videos and ideas motivated me to improve my personal camp spot. Thanks and I will appreciate any comments you might have
Just found your channel. I couldn't stop watching. I was simply amazed at what you put together with just a few tools. Please keep your videos coming. Thanks again, Vinny
Great teacher! Well done! I really enjoy the attitude you have. I have learned a lot. Thank you so much for your time and for you sharing your knowledge and yourself. God bless!
I really enjoyed the set of videos. I am glad you left them up so I could enjoy them. I will pack the knowledge gained and I am willing to bet, that the next time I go camping I will use what you demonstrated.
Most videos show shelters which, although effective, make me cringe at wanting to spend more than the minimal time in them. Yours actually looks cozier and more elegant than most tents I've been in. I'll be practicing your shelter next time I'm up at camp. Great job on your video and thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Wow! What more can I say? Your brilliant WEZ, a great attitude towards your bushskill/craft and a great teacher!!! You and Ray Mears should consider coming to Canada and doing some multi day work shops as I would love to be your student! Cheers sir!!!
thank you for the last two hours of watching your video's, i think your great with all the detail you put in, as you work. many thanks again, i look forward to watching more in the future. keep up the good work...
I like your videos, lots of smart and logical thinking a chair dose way a lot to carry to build it on site with a bit of rope and a few zip ties very import to have.
Truely awesome, straight forward, step by step. These are the kind of things people need to see on youtube. If everyone had a good work ethic & a smiling face...the world would be a better place.Hit the nail right on the head with what you said about,"It's been a hard day,but look at what's been achieved." philosophy.I been looking at different kinds of shelters & what would work best for me.This one is by far the best I've seen yet.Well done!!
Thanks a lot for sharing this. I'm never tired to watch it. It's sad you're no more posting new videos. Personally i think this is one of the best video, (if not the best at all), about long term shelter. Clear, no bs, neat execution, nice tips and, to be honest, all made with style. You should have a tv program on survival, sir. Hope you're ok. Take care.
Amazing instruction on a long term shelter. I have a 200 acre plot that runs up to the side and back of my house. I think this will be a good lesson for all of my kids. It's amazing the simplicity that you just don't think of. Many thanks! I think I'll look at the rest of your videos.
I would certainly like to see more of this. Now that you've built your shelter can you expand from surviving to living? Expand from building to crafting, making other tools and hunting or music? Or to food, what to pick, making weapons to hunt, how to cook it? Or expand to more building, appliances like making a bowl from a log, or a table out of frames and logs like the bed? All of this is very interesting to me and has helped me with my survival skills. I'd like to learn a whole lot more from you.
5453 subscribers and no new videos in 2 years. You sir are awesome! So many have said this all ready but, it is worth repeating again and again. This video series is outstanding! You are obviously a very knowledgeable and skilled man. I keep returning to your channel hoping that you post some new videos. If you are able and willing the masses beg you to return. FYI: zip ties and a couple of "bunk sacs" have been permanent additions to my pack since the first time I saw your videos.
I am having my husband build us one ,this is awesome, and a great way to enjoy our forest,we made the chairs last week for around the campfire, You need to do more videos :-)) tou are great !!
Fantastic video series Wezo. I think this about the 4th time I've watched it. Looks like hard work but ultimately worth it when you get results like that ! Like you said once it's built, you can enjoy the fruits of your labour every time you come out. Looking forward to more of your projects on this subject. Keep up the good work fella, we all appreciate your efforts and teachings.
excellent job. ive watched a lot of these kind of videos and as far as long term shelters go this is the best by a square mile. i wish i could do something like this where i live. i live on the isle of arran loads of forrests about. but you wouldnt get away with anything like this. thanks for sharing
I really loved this! But I think we could all put our heads together and learn from each other. One thing I would like to add is; 'I never latch to standing timber. If this is going to be a long long term shelter. I've found that the force of the trees moving constantly, tends to loosen everything. No latching can stand up to the the force of a tree. So I use tripods only. It is completely independent. That way doesn't matter what the trees do. But still an awesome video. Thanks for listening.
hello there Mate how are you this shelter is by far the best ive seen on you tube. you explain everything to a "T" i still cant over the cable tie idea, its fantastic! furthermore no loud heavy metal music perfect, just the sounds of nature the best way to make an instructional video and far enough away from a road (no traffic sound). I wish there was a rating for videos on you tube i would give yours 500%. as i said before the cable tie idea is the best.
This is the best shelter that I have seen on you tube. I do hope you are OK. I will be using this shelter many times. Thank you. BTW: the zip ties are GENIOUS!!!!! I love it.
You got a big fat thumbs up from native Oklahoma. I really appreciate the craftsmanship that you employ in your campsite. Very well done. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Thanks for the video my friend. ~Wolf
very good series I really did enjoy watching and learned a few things ... I look forward to seeing some of the other things that can make camp life a little easyer ! 5/5
Too bad you didn't make a video of your evening meal and relaxation. But your video series was real good. Thanks for making them and hope to see more..
Sir, this was the most impressive series of bushcrafting videos ive seen on youtube so far. Your passion an prescision cant be beaten. This surely is a place to come back to "again and again and again..." And, since ive seen a lot of people whining about the cable ties, mates, i beg you to re-think your point of view. Bushcrafting, nowadays, and especialy surviving, means to use what youve got, and what nature offers you.
Very nice shelter; some of the benefits you didn't mention....though it was a day of hard work, the next day, your shelter will be there, and you can dedicate that day to some other task/activity. That shelter will be there for you for a good long time. (I built a debris shelter for my daughter, to show her that it would stand for a few weeks. That was 2 years ago, and it's still standing! And, this is MUCH better built than my debris shelter.) Beautiful! (and, of course, Cymru am byth!)
They just don't make men like this anymore. What an architect/engineer. And all straight to the point with no blah, blah, blah jib jab. Well done sir. Thanks for the videos,,, hope you return to them soon.
Wezo, as others have said, very nicely done. I have learned alot from you and I appreciate your efforts. Please continue and make some more videos. your fans are waiting.
Nice! at first i was wondering whats with cable ties. but it just makes sense. quick and easy with no knots. I love the leanto but will never make one again, unless its summer. i live in the rockies where weather can turn below freezing at most times of the year. getting up off the floor is such a nice feature of any shelter for sure!
Practical, informative, & personable - really really enjoy these! I've seen many similar videos that are crammed full of idle chitchat, as though their creators are terrified by a bit of silence. Just one reason these stand out is that WEZ doesn't feel compelled to keep explaining to us what he's doing when it's visually obvious what he's about. Would sure like to see more of these!
