Join me for another sub 18 parkrun attempt. This time coming from the beautiful Bushy parkrun, where the first ever parkrun took place 19 years before!
Busy is a fairly unique parkrun, and I think it's fair to say it consistently has the largest amount of fast runners in the UK. This is due to it being a bigger Parkrun than most, averaging 1500 runners in most recent weeks, and also drawing several fast Parkrun pilgrims, as it is the first ever Parkrun course. Sub 18 times would be top 3 in most local Parkruns near me, also in the UK.
To be fair, I think I'd have been top 10 at most Parkruns in the UK - Bushy being the the original parkrun and very flat/a one lap course brings the masses!
All about genetics. You cant get around it. I am from RSA and spend 10m in Brighton in my 30's. Was very obvious. Supported by my RSA experience comparing my friends categorised according to heritage. On average the UK lot were much faster than the Dutch/German group.
