Eureka! I've finally found the perfect way to die cut DIY Business Cards! This machine cuts business cards, credit cards and id cards with rounded corners. I put off buying this for awhile because it cuts 2-1/4" x 3 -3/8" which is slightly different dimensions than a business card. But I couldn't find a standard
business card or punch anywhere and eventually ordered this one on Ebay, out of frustration. I'm so glad I did, because it is AWESOME! It was afforable and was delivered to my doorstep in just 3 days!

Very useful and practical machine. Hard to find something like that here in Brazil. Thank you for this great video.

It's absolutely insane how no one has created one of these for trading card / ATC / playing card shapes. I have been searching periodically for over 10 years and there is STILL nothing like this machine for makers like me. I've reached out to various custom manufacturers and they are just either not willing to make it or want WAY TOO MUCH $, $500+ shipping.

I’m looking at a trading card punch too! Did you manage to find one at all?

@@dannynguyen2141I ended up having a custom steel rule die made. There's a video on my channel showing how I make my cards and the die is shown there.

As to the 2.25 X 3.375 die cut size, someone, somewhere in the world is making a different sized die/punch set. This can be seen in the following video at 5:17 where he is punching out large VIP key ring type cards. I'm guessing this video is being made in the same country where the punch is made, so he easier access to the manufacturer's other punch accessories. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--dh2YkFiaak.html

How is this thing usually named on ebay? I know I've seen them before, but I can't find them now.

You can undo the four bolts holding the plate to the front of the machine, wedge the plate off, and clear the obstruction. Or, since all of the important bits are near the edges, you can tap the center piece back in with a hammer - just protect the surface with some wood or folded paper, tap lightly a few times while you gently lift the handle. Just don't force it, the handle is the weakest link.

Hi. I was searching for a die for a business card. Where can I find a steel rule one?
@Heymimi
@Heymimi 8 лет назад
+Edrolin Moises I've been looking for one forever. As far as I know they don't exist, which seems really crazy to me. You can watch my video about the red sizzix rectangles die ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eyTjNoEe8Ds.html which is the closet one I've found to a business card size. I contacted Ellison company to have one custom made, and they quoted me $100 for one die. I just couldn't afford to custom order it at the time, and by that time I had already purchased this machine and was satisfied with the size.

+HeyMimi DIY frustrating isnt it? i also checked accucut. they have that business card die but they dont have the one for my sizzix machine. short story i will have to buy their machine to get that huge die! No. and have you also noticed there arent any 3x4 and 4x6 steel rule die? sometimes i think these companies are just playing us.
@Heymimi
@Heymimi 8 лет назад
+Edrolin Moises It makes no sense to me! 3x4, 4x6, and business card size steel rule dies with a clear back. It's a no brainer! I'm baffled why they are not stocked in every craft store? It's the equivalent of a 1" circle punch! It's not going to go out of style; and surely there is no copyright on a rectangle shape! I just don't get it.

Do you have a Cricut Explore or Cameo Silhouette? If yes, wouldn't they be perfect for business card cutting?
@Heymimi
@Heymimi 9 лет назад
***** I do have a Sihouette Cameo and I love that thing! However, I have not tested it to cut something as thick as the cardstock I want to cut for business cards. Whenever I've cut thick stuff, like Basill textured cardstock, I've always had to cut the pattern twice. But the great thing about an electronic die cutter, is that I could do print and cut and get perfect alignment of image/text. I just not sure if it's a great solution if you are cutting 500 of them. I wonder how the blade would hold up to that? Thanks for the suggestion, PinkOwl, maybe I'll do a demo testing my Cameo for this task.

Oh, ok. I have a Cricut Explore and it can cut some pretty thick material. It can cut thin sheets of wood. However, I am not familiar with the Cameo. At any rate it was a great video and looks like a good little device.

***** Wow, thick sheets of wood? I had no idea! I will give some .6 -.8 material a try! thanks for the tip, Pink!
@PinkOwlCreations

It will cut thin sheets of wood. If the deep housing blade is used it might be able to cut thicker.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but these dies might be easier to use. They are from ellisoneducation.com (Sizziz parent company), and are their AllStar dies, which are the same as Sizzix Bigz. One die is Flashcard or Trading Card, #A10332, 2.5" x 3.5 ($11.99). The other is Rectangle, #10217, 2" x 4" ($19.99). I know each is one-half inch larger than the standard size you want; however each of these dies is just the one cut in the middle of the die, which might make cutting easier because you wouldn't have to position your cardstock around other images. Perhaps you could place one edge of your cardstock one-half-inch inside the cutting line to get the size you want.I've followed your videos with interest because I like the way you work out solutions. Again, I know this isn't perfect, but today I went through all of my steel rule dies and this is the closest I could find.

It looks an odd size because you’re in America. That’s a normal size for Europe, because guess where you’re most likely to keep a business card?…in your wallet.
