Uber definitely put an end to ego of taxi drivers from whom if demanded service at odd times can take upto 3x money. Getting an Auto around Mumbai is an act of self humiliation. "A man gets his first rejection not from a girl but from an Auto driver."😂 But always expect great content from this channel. 👍
1. In case of an accident both, A normal taxi driver and Uber driver would pay it on their own. 2. In case of legality and regulations, In India where people "strictly" follow the rules undermining the bureaucracy might offend them. Uber isn't asking for these legalities, but if you want it, do it on your own expense. Still a driver will get more than an average salary and it'll cost less than an average cost to people. 3. In case of safety, both stands at same although in extreme cases uber would be more safer than a taxi. 4. Availability is what makes the uber more favourable. If you can trust on food delivery apps, i think you should trust this also.
The biggest issue that Uber solved is guaranteed rides and successfully reaching at the destination on time. Off course, I am talking about India only. Before Uber, we used to face unlimited rejections by pathetic taxi drivers which was actually diminishing the objective of a taxi ride. Also, those unprofessional taxi drivers used to charge 4x/5x fares. But nobody cared about these issues. App based cab rides are the need of the hour, which we were eagerly waiting for. Illegal or not, I support Uber as it serves the basic purpose of a taxi ride.

Uber's has been more of a blessing. Getting ride at odd times like late night or early morning flight has become very easy. Earlier we were at mercy of taxi drivers esp at desperate times. They would charge even 4x money if it is late night or not stick to agreed upon price at last moment knowing that we don't have any other option. Competition is always better for consumer.

Uber and Ola have made a common man's life a bit easy, in terms of pricing and convenience. People who cant afford their own car and wants to travel, can use such means of transport which is way better than cramped public transport. We need more such services in future.
Some drivers arrive and ask to cancel the ride , and ask to pay the price which is shown during booking , after reaching destination he said I can save commission to pay . Off course it is known to über and they don’t take any action over it
This reminds me of Goa, where Ola& Uber doesn't work, and the local taxis charge 2-3x the amount. From customer point of view, Ola & Uber are very beneficial, with variety of options of vehicles and car sharing options.
Uber did a wonderful thing, while countries struggle to find and create livelihood,Uber did the same. Law is made to support not to hamper,with Uber on this.
I had a chance to talk to one of the drivers last year who was assigned to take me to Hyd Airport( 30+ km) and ride was rated at Rs.400. But the split of this 400rs kinda shocked me. So for every 100rs the ride costs 30rs( ie 30%) goes to Uber and Ola. So that's about 120rs ( for my ride). Next fuel at its all-time high cost and a 30km ride would cost about ~150 rupees. Toll would cost 50-90rs. So in the end the driver would end up getting like 30- 70 rs for my ride. That's ridiculous and outrageous.
To bring about a change/revolution, one has to think out of the box. Thank God we've Ola and Uber today. Be it legal or illegal of their business model, it definitely is a boon to the driver and the user. A driver can earn their livelihood and for the user it's convenient and cheap compared to regular taxis.

Booking taxis have become a tedious job these days. Because from a few days whenever I am trying to book Ola taxi, the drivers charge extra amount of 30 - 50 bucks. When asked why they simply say it's because of the petrol price hike. And refusing to pay the extra charge, they deny taking the ride and ask us to cancel it in a harsh tone. And as a customer I have to pay additional amount of 25-30 rs on my next booking as a matter of fine. This is seriously insane. Has anyone faced the same issue like me.
Uber or Ola it has happened several times with us that they ask for on-line payment and then say they haven't received the amount in their account. Then collect cash too & scoot ! No amount of calling back or complaining has helped.
उबर ने मेरी जिंदगी काफी आसान बना दी है। इससे पहले लोकल टैक्सी वाले बहुत अकड़ कर माना कर देते थे, और किराया भी उबर से लगभग डबल किराया मांगते थे, हां ऑटो रिक्शा फिर भी सस्ता है मगर उबर मुझे ऑटो रिक्शा के किराए पर कार की सवारी देता है, टाइम पर मुझे ऑफिस पहुंचा देता है। मुझे ओला उबर दोनो बहुद शानदार लगते है।
