I believe this sitcom was based loosely on the movie Bustin Loose with Richard Pryor and Cecily Tyson. I love that movie ❤

You can always tell 70's and 80's sitcoms as most had lame music and bad lyrics. And whoever greenlighted anything with Jimmie Walker in it must have been stoned . The only thing Walker was ever good at was playing the idiot JJ on Good Times because he wasn't acting ,he was just playing himself.
